Finlands incorporation into the Nordic states happened in tandem with scandinavias conversion to Christianity and us suddenly having monks that actually kept records. Scandinavia proper just interracted with Christian Europe more. That’s basically the only reason why we have a better idea of our pre Christian history. It wasn’t actually us that recorded most of it. We depend on German sources.
