Why doesn't South America have a bigger tourism industry?

>violence
The tourism industries of Central America, North Africa and the Middle East are all larger than that of South America.

Southwestern US states are majority Hispanic and they travel back and forth to Mexico. You can't drive to South America. As soon as they fix this, more united shartians will drive there.

All right, who's going to build the bridge between Venezuela and Florida?

Tourism depends a lot on your neighbours; having big populated and at the same time rich countries nearby can bring you a lot of sheckels. Europe is the peak example of that.

In south america we have big countries with a very low density and we're surrounded by middle-income countries. Not the best combination for massive tourism.
