IN FINLAND we have this place called "Kalajoki" (fish river) and it is famous all along the country for having a sandy beach. that's right! thousands and thousands of domestic tourists flock there every year to see this wonder of nature! It's the main selling point of the municipality. you can even go swimming in the nasty slimy brown coloured sea!

Lake Ontario and Lake Eerie are warm and have lots of beaches, even sand dunes, but the water is dirty. Lake Huron is cooler and has more anemic beaches, but is more pristine. Prince Edward Island has very high quality beaches, but is quite remote.

We have a very big coastline with large sandy beach all over the country except the shithole part where I live Our problem is the North-Sea being cold all year long. You can swim in summer but it's not comfortable like Mediterranean
