>identification? we don't do that in the Anglosphere
>>221904481You can get an ID card here, most people use their driving licence though
imc no one in their right mind has an official identity card. passport is the most common official document but many don't have that either. you can also use the "military pass" that you get from conscription as an official document but it's a total meme and will raise eyebrows. everyone just uses the drivers license even though OFFICIALLY it's not a valid identity document.
americans will complain about voter fraud and then say id cards are communism
>>221905698I looked it up and apparently the military pass is no longer valid as an official ID. Even though it contains exactly the same information. the EU decided that only ID issued by police is valid, and the military pass is issued by the military, not police so it's not valid. same story with the gibs card issued by KELA (social security office). That's just stupid, the MILITARY can't issue almost the exact same card that the police can. And everyone just uses the not valid unofficial driving license anyway so what does it matter.
>>221905544what if you dont drive
>>221904481fake, americans need the id card to be allowed to buy a beer, the land of the free
>>221904481I wish we did frankly because now the expected standard when doing anything official is that as soon as you're 18 you MUST have a driver's licence, and if you don't you have to either get a $400 passport or always carry your birth certificate.
>>221907692You die
>>221906350There was a lot of whining when talk of voter id’s came here and people very carefully wording things when talking about illegals who obviously don’t have any sort of id but should still vote
>>221907847That’s a point, when getting a job you have to provide an ID, maybe it’s different for dodgy jobs, I’ve always used my passport but birth certificate is an option except I have no idea where that is or if mine still exists
>>221904481We have provincial id cards
>>221904481I'd get it if they were big on privacy or something but they happily pay with credit cards and use their driver's licenses to identify themselves. Is it autism?
>>221907771I mean, yeah? You need to be an adult to buy alcohol
>>221908304are they free and universal?
>>221907847>$400 passporti paid £50 for mine and even that felt like jewery
