Do Americans seriously get their delivery packages/parcels just thrown on their porch and left there to be stolen?
>>
>>221930131
That's common knowledge
>>
>>221930131
usa is a high trust society, you wouldn't get it
>>
>>221930131
I do not. i live in an apartment. my building has boxes we get our mail/packages in. although the packages locker is unlocked, there is literally always someone outside with their dog or having a smoke so i have never known anyone to steal from it

they dont have romanians roaming around
>>
>>221930243
mine is always locked
>>
>>221930131
How does parcel delivery work in Romania?
Yes our packages are just left on the porch or top step near the front door. Even with the rise in package theft, 99% of the time no one fucks with it, yes even in the poor or high crime neighborhoods. But recently more people have lock boxes, or they get them delivered to amazon lockers, or to the front desk of their jobs.
>>
>>221932315
they're too busy slaving for you picking fruits and vegetables under abusive conditions and wiping your old people's butts and other undesirable jobs :)
>>
>>221933004
The delivery guy has to make sure you get your package. It's not strict like having to sign, so another person can easily get it for you. But if there's nobody home or you don't respond they definitely not just leave it there. That's ridiculous. We also have amazon-style lockers literally everywhere, even in small villages.
>>
>>221930131
their suburbs act like a big housing complex where only people who live there get in
>>
>>221930131
That happens everywhere, it's a result of the cost of postage not having kept up with inflation at all, leading all mail carriers to cut to the absolute bone. Even publicly owned postal carriers operate with this logic now.
>>
>>221930131
Yes. Go to YouTube, there's hundreds of videos about "porch pirates" getting caught.
>>
>>221933253
Gotcha, I used to work for UPS, most of the time we could just leave the package, but anything that needed to be signed for, or required cash on delivery, was returned to the warehouse for a second attempt at delivery or for the customer to pick up at the front desk, if no one answered after a knock or ring. It's illegal for parcel delivery companies to use mailboxes only the post office can touch them, which is why we just leave the deliveries near the front door.
>>221933283
Only if it's gated. Even then some gated communities will just leave the gate open for people to come and go as they please.
>>
>>221933471
>Only if it's gated
even if not gated why would randoms visit your suburb?
>>
>>221933298
We're a 3rd world country and I guarantee it doesn't happen here. Not even a little bit.

>>221933333
Yeah that's insane. How did it get to this?
>>
They only get stolen if you live around blacks or in a city apartment (around blacks)

I really don’t know why foreigners can’t understand and accept this even though we make it plain as day over and over again. Virtually all criminal, disorderly, unpleasant, or antisocial behavior comes from blacks. If you avoid blacks, America is higher trust than Japan.
>>
>>221933492
>why would randoms visit your suburb?
stopping in for random visits to family and friends
often times public trails and parks are located in our suburbs
sometimes people do operate businesses out of their homes or garages
people also like to look for random yard sales
people go for drives to clear their heads or engage in sightseeing
people will drive through neighborhoods to avoid traffic on the main roads
genuinely taking the scenic route and back roads vs a main road or highway here can be good for your mental health just to break up the monotony
>>
>>221933668
>They only get stolen if you live around blacks or in a city apartment
You can just go to youtube and watch countless videos of white Americans stealing packages too.
>>
>It's illegal for parcel delivery companies to use mailboxes only the post office can touch them, which is why we just leave the deliveries near the front door
We both know that's not the real reason, and also that's just extremely stupid thing to do. Why do you Americans put up with it?
>>
>>221933992
Yeah all 50 of them that have ever been done by “white” people.
>>
>>221933992
That would be a black zainichi.
>>
>>221934029
Receiving our mail is free service provided by the federal government, they are just ensuring that the mailboxes don't get mistreated, or worn out, and that there's always space for actual mail delivery which often times contains official government notices, and documents, and other legal things.
>>
>>221932315
I hope they steal your grandparent's belongings and then kidnap your sister
>>
>>221934030
>everything is the fault of black people, even when it's white people doing it
>>
>>221933668
a package is the resposibility of the handler untill its delivered, legally its only delivered when its signed for. so if they leave a 150000 dollar nelson racing twin turbo engine on your doorstep, you are away and brown hands run away with its their loss, they have to replace it. or a temu package worth 5... i cant understand why you accept not having this? its ok to just leave it there and leave?
>>
>>221930131
My current apartment has an exterior mailbox with no place to put packages. The one time I ordered something it was literally left on the sidewalk. My previous apartment had an interior lobby area where packages were left but they were often stolen until management installed a security camera there.

>>221933807
Also forgot about the door to door salesmen, and political canvasing, and kids selling cookies and candy to fund trips, or team uniforms, our scouts badges, and the most annoying the religious missionaries.

That's another fun things about Americans. Imagine forcing your child to go and knock on random stranger's doors to sell shit on behalf of some organization. What could possibly go wrong?
>>
>>221930131
Yes. We were once a high trust society, unlike europe (low trust society)
>>
>>221935400
>forcing
>on behalf of some organization
it is volunteer and it's to fund their local troops trips you troglodyte.
>what could possibly go wrong
Damn, europe really is that much of a shithole huh
>>
>>221935400
They're not forced.
Also the girl scout cookies are pretty good and the fundraiser pizza (which was created by the Italian mafia) is actually delicious.
Nothing happens to these kids, strangers kidnapping random children is practically a myth here, that's how rare it is.
I also forgot about trick or treating and Christmas caroling.
>>
>>221935454
>>221935619
Yes children totally and freely volunteer for that stuff and not just because their parents make them do it. Because children are known for being able to consent by not being easily convinced and led to do stupid and dangerous things.
>>
>>221935672
kids want the prizes
the parents actually hate that shit but only do it because the kids want to.
selling that stuff is like a second job
I never bothered selling anything as a kid but my parents did buy us those delicious frozen mafia pizzas and the big tubs of cookie dough.
>>
>>221930131
here it just depends if it's signature required or not. it's whoever you're buying from's policy and they will tell you. i don't like it, i prefer it when they just leave it there, because then i have to go to the post office and said post office might only be open 9-5, 5 days a week, when i am working. so i would have to submit paid leave to go get it. but at the moment i get things delivered to my work anyway.
>>
>>221935672
>Because children are known for being able to consent by not being easily convinced and led to do stupid and dangerous things.
What the fuck are you talking about? I begged my parents to let me join the boyscouts when I was younger
how sheltered and retarded were you as a child that you didn't want to go camping, competing in a pinewood derby, etc.
>>
>>221933504
>Yeah that's insane. How did it get to this?
The amount of sent letters dropped from 2 billion to 300 million a year.

What surprises me more is people who constantly get their packages stolen yet don't build or invest in a package drop box.
>>
>>221930131
Amazon does this here too, they usually just throw it over the fence.
With other parcel services including the national post you usually need to agree to it online, otherwise you will have to pick it up at some partner shop.
>>
>>221935931
It's a felony if somebody steals a package from the post office here so it also works as a way to clean up your community as most people have door bell cameras now
>>
>>221935759
>>221935805
I'm just skeptical of an organization that is so appealing to kids, we know the abuses that can happen very easily. And kids are manipulated or scared to say anything about them, so official statistics are way off. Even if the kids want it, they are easy to be fooled, regardless if the parents made them do it or tiktok or your local catholic priest.
Of course I wanted to do a lot of stuff as a kid including camping. But getting a kid to sell stuff for you is cult shit regardless of cause. It's cultish and creepy as fuck.
>>
>>221936120
>Kids are to be sheltered away from their community as much as possible
this is why europe is falling so quickly btw
>>
>>221930131
Better than being forced to collect them in person from the delivery driver otherwise they send them back
>>
>>221936147
What makes you trust these organizations for kids so much? Do you think they are ordained by God himself, just like catholic priests?
>>
>>221936120
What a bizarre thing to virtue signal about
Euros are so weird
It's just cookies man
>>
>>221936314
Girl scouts is just a club where they go out camping and stuff like that not sure why you're making such a big deal about it
>>
>>221936314
>What makes you trust these organizations for kids so much?
they are generally run by a member of the community, that the parents are familiar with.
Would you lose your gourd if you found out I was put in a month long overnight camp during the summer over an hour from where I lived?
>>
>>221935805
we have the boyscouts here as well but they dont go around harassing people with products they want to sell. such a thing is very much frowned upon here. when random kids ring your bell and want to sell you stuff here, you call the police. unironically. im not allowed to say more because it could be considered hate speech.

>SHUT UP YOU LITTLE BITCH STOP HARASSING ME!!!! AHHHHH!! I AM CALLING THE COPS THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE HERE, WE DO NOT DO THIS IN AUSTRIA!
>>
>>221933504
Well, then you live in a low-demand area. Highly populated places usually have too few postal workers and are closely timed to narrow delivery windows.
>>
>>221936678
if they've got samoas it's an automatic yes every time
>>
>>221936849
Europeons will never know this feel
>>
>>221936678
I think he means some kind of mafia that's using kids for nefarious purposes, not that he's actually scared of the kids themselves. Which BTW definitely does exists. There are mafia groups using kids for begging and stealing.
>>
>>221930131
I've worked seasonally for UPS. We try to place the package behind a pillar or flowerpot and tell the receiver always where it is. If it's in a place likely to get stolen like an apartment, the box is left with management and they must pick it up at the head office.
>>
>>221936849
>>221936884
Too bad it's processed shit that gives u cancer and diabetes. But of course you're ignorant and even proud about trashing your health. But at least it's a cute child handing the cookies to you so it's all good
>>
>>221937155
>noooo you can't buy cookies from kids it's a plot by food companies to kill you and rape children!

Jesus, if Euros are this joyless it's no wonder they're dying off.
