>>221960232just learn whatever language you like and shut up
Japan isn't "stagnating", it's living. It's existing. It's the antithesis to this jewish economic concept of "constant infinite growth at any cost" paradigm that invites boom/bust cycles and mass immigration to sustain it. They have all the tech we do. If you go there everything is efficient, functional, clean, orderly, on point. Their corporations (zaibatsu) are designed to exist forever, get passed down through generations and always exist to provide work and opportunity to their people. They don't think of things in terms of cutting corners or greasing margins or quarterly earnings, just doing, making, buying, selling, living.Stagnation is frankly a terrible concept, like if you don't surge eternally to the moon you have failed. They have arguably the greatest society on Earth.
>>221960232Yeah
>>221960277Korean sounds much better than Dutch and French.>>221960309Japan has been stagnating so much that even Korea surpassed it. I also don't buy into the 'the jew runs the world' conspiracy. Also, zaibatsu don't exist anymore.>They don't think of things in terms of cutting corners or greasing margins or quarterly earnings, just doing, making, buying, selling, living.Japanese are actually very dishonest and their culture promotes 'saving face'. They act nice but are passive aggressive control freaks.
>>221960232>Japan has been a stagnating shitholestagnating, yesit still mogs any western nation
>>221960410Lel you really are a Korean aren't you
>>221960845You say this because you have no argument.>>221960757You only say this because you never lived in Japan. Scandinavian countries are much better when compared to Japan. The only thing they have going for them is their pop culture, but even that is being challenged by Korea and China.
>>221960232I completely agree, Mandarin is like nails on a chalkboard. I was at a large college graduation recently with tons of international families and heard dozens of languages being spoken. It's not even just Japanese that sounds nicer, there isn't single other foreign language I've heard that creates the same unpleasant sensation that Mandarin does. It's so fucking shrill and staccato, it legitimately doesn't sound human. People joke about German always sounding angry, but Mandarin sounds like everyone speaking it is cussing each other out all the time.
>>221960913Define "better"
>>221960937Better work-life balance, social safety net, gender equality, wages, etc...They're very clean countries with good public infrastracture as well.Only problem is the immigrant population.
>>221961036>work life balanceJapanese barely work 7 hours a day. You got memed big time.>gender equalityAre you a femoid or just retarded? Who cares?>social safety netUnless you are a leech nobody cares about "welfare".
>>221960232why people need to learn languages if they know english?what the point of learning anything that is not related to making money?what the point of having a fucking hobby of studying instead of just having fun?don't say to me you enjoy reading 3000 chinese characters.the worst people on discord have kanji in their display name, they should kill themselves.
>>221960232Pick the language you like with the content you enjoy. All the merits and demerits you listed are completely unimportant and you shouldn't be caught up in them at all. Also, you have no obligation to learn any language, so don't go running to C just because A and B seem shit.
>>221961097>Who caresThe most developed countries on Earth. Certainly not shitholes like Pakistan.>nobody cares about welfareThat's just cope. Good welfare systems make countries more productive. No wonder Japan is falling behind every other advanced economy.>>221961331>why do people learn anything at all>>221961508How are they unimportant? Otherwise you wouldn't know which language you find more appealing.
>>221960232さすがに日ヒョン弁は第一の言語である。Most tonal langs sound harsh to most of us yuropoids desu, it feels like random enunciation and stress, inquisitively rising and decisively falling midword. Or it can be perceived as musical singsong speech.I like the sound of Mandarin, it sounds badass and expressive to my ear. But I definitely hear the grating; it's not pleasant in the traditional sense as Japanese mostly is. Japanese has a weaker tonal system with just high tone and low tone, which is sufficiently similar to Indo-European word-internal syllable stress to not cause too much dissonance.Chinese pipili can't nuance they speech lol everything they say is uniliterally monosemantic! (jk allegedly they can still manipulate the tonal contours on a finer scale but ain't no mayoo hearin' that)
>>221961036>gender equalityWhy is this retard making this bait thread?
The only reason you should ever learn these languages is if you're planning to live in one of those countries. None of them especially Chinese people are ever going to give a foreigner a job that expects him to know the language. If they want an international work environment they'll use English
>>221963871Do Chinese people ignore tones in their songs? I've noticed that Mandarin music sounds better than regular speech.
Focus on what you’re more interested in, you can’t bring forth intrinsic motivation but pro/con logic-fagging it.You can try both simultaneously and the one you focus on the most will be the one you prefer.
>>221965526They match the tones while writing songs. If you can't conceptualize how that works just imagine it like another layer of looking for rhyming words, but with matching the words to melody.
>>221967476Yeah, but just like rhymes, which aren't always precise or rappers do weird things with pronunciation and announcing, the tones don't always match the melody. I don't have an example rn, but that's the impression I got when I once compared the lyrics and tones, read without music, by a computer, with how they're sung it in a song.
>>221960232>Grammar is easier than Japanese and the writing system is hard but at least it's the only one that is usedkanna is basically a child's play compared to everything else, just like morse you can learn it in a couple of weeks
>>221960232I don't get why people always say Japanese sounds "beautiful" and pleasing to the ear. It's choppy and has an annoying accent and pitch. It's not the ugliest language but it sits on the ugly side of the spectrum.
>>221964994likely a jeet or someone paid by a feminist committee to infiltrate forums just like they do for heavier topics
>>221962400>Good welfare systems make countries more productivenot a single one of them even has a replacement level birth rate
Funnily enough Japanese has the same pronunciation as Spanish, arguably the 2 best sounding languages
>>221972199Clear vowels, mostly clear constants, very "syllable-like"
>>221960232why not learn hindi instead since there are 2 billion speakers
>>221960232Your thread have nafri vibes for some reason. Why are South slavs mentally similar to muslims?
>>221960232>the writing system is hard but at least it's the only oneYou'll have to learn simple and traditional hanzi if you want access to China and Taiwan.
>>221960232>Unfortunately sounds like a sick cat being strangled to deathSkill issue, Mandarin sounds fine
why is she learning korean?k pop lover koreaboo or something?
>>221960232All languages are useless.

>>221960232>Maybe I should just learn Korean like my sister?and have the worst of both worlds?
>>221974824>jeetHe's not white that for sure.
Mandarin only sounds good when the person speaking it also knows english. Somehow hearing them speak my language humanizes theirs to my ears, makes it more intelligible and almost charming.
>>221981073>tf>tp
>>221960232Maybe you should just give any language that uses oracle bone derived scripts, or any system of writing that isn't phonetic in nature, a wide berth and learn something more useful that's also more related to your own language
>>221960232korean is the hardest of the three and with the most boring and limited contentits also got extreme age obsession where people won't be friends with anyone who isn't their exact same birth year because the confucian age relations are so stiflingincredibly dull depressing country don't learn korean
>>221981992They're the most fascinating languages in my personal opinion.>>221982094Would you suggest Mandarin or Japanese?
>>221960232>>221980461>>221982486>Taiwan is irrelevantMaybe on a large scale it is insignificant, but it seems to be a comfy place worth visiting and at least some basic possibility of communicating with people.I'm not saying that China is not interesting, but if someone is interested in Japan, Taiwan or Hong Kong, they should not give up their dreams and try to arrange their life in such a way that they can find a use for these languages. Especially since these are not super small languages / dialects like Estonian or Hungarian, and I know fanatics who have built their professional lives around these languages
>>221960232tell your sister that i worship her
>>221961331Learning is fun, especially if you are interested in reading. You unlock different set of proverbs, maxim, idioms and word play as well as historical context which makes reading interesting, instead of all of it being filtered by the amerikkka leftcuck pov.>>221960232Keep in mind it will take you years to get to an OK level, the usefulness in day to day element seems like a giant meme, unless you are actively attempting to move to one of the three. You should be picking a language based on having a daily use for it (media, talking to specific people), else you'd get bored in a month and quit.>3 writing systemI wouldn't take this as a serious deterrent, hiragana and katakana should take you a week or two at worst and katakana has specific use cases so you'll realistically see mostly hiragana and kanji.Kanji (the chinese characters) is the only real cancer, especially when you find out a lot of the rules are more so rule of thumb. but it does have its upsides. Also regardless of what you pick don't be a downie and waste time on scam shit like duolingo, their jap language course is especially bad. Stick to books/tutors/classes/online resources, and try to find things that challenge your understanding rather than pure reading.
>>221983392My wording was too harsh. Taiwan is definitely a fascinating place and I can see why some people prefer it over mainland China. >>221986147Yeah, I know duolingo is shit for everything except for being an ok barebones introduction to the most basic words and phrases in the available language, and most of the time it's not even that. Anyhow, thanks for the input!
>>221960410>Korean sounds much better than Dutch and French. It's because you're Korean, lol
>>221960232Japanese writing system is a much easier and more convenient than Chinese.Korean is probably the most practical choise for a foreigner.
Asian languages require too much time and dedication. Why not learn something like German, Spanish, French, Swedish etc.? They're easy enough for a mortal to learn and it will most likely help with job prospects.
>>221988053european languages are just reskins of each other, you don't gain access to a truly new culture by learning one or the other, I speak a bunch of them so I'd knowasian languages really let you explore something totally different
japipo b like>nihao my name is hakuna matata!
>>221988053Europe is a dying continent and there's no point in learning boring languages that are spoken by millions of third world engineer astronaut physicist marine biologists.
There's only two relevant languages in the world: English and Chinese. Learn one or the other and you'll be set for life.
>>221977295Right. It's choppy, I said. It doesn't flow. It sounds inhuman.
>>221990388But not in the way Chinese is choppy. French is also somewhat syllabic, but has different sounds. And Swedish too. And all of them are great in songs
