The dictatorship was a mistake. A major factor why there was this huge shift away from catholicism was the massive migration from the countryside to the city. It is also where the favelas grew astronomically. Should have gone for a slow, controlled industrialization and development of the countryside. But that what have required proper land reforms and the entire reason why the Junta existed was to make sure it never happened.
