Reddit is so gay. I just made a post about investing and I've made posts about investing in the past and it feels like unless you phrase it in a very milquetoast basedjak-friendly kind of way, you're gonna get downvoted. Also you have to say the right things. Any personal panache or flair gets you downvoted. Any mildly controversial take on investing gets you downvoted, even if it is technically true. They don't appreciate novelty there they just want people who repeat the party line back to them. I'm not even being really edgy either I'm just talking in a mildly contrarian way. Does this happen in your country?

>>221979394What you're describing is a pretty common complaint about large online communities, not just Reddit.A few things tend to happen once a forum reaches a certain size:The community develops a local consensus or "house style."Voting systems reward comments that fit what readers already expect.Novel, nuanced, or contrarian arguments require more effort to evaluate than familiar ones.People often use upvotes and downvotes as "agree/disagree" buttons, even when the argument is factually grounded.
>>221979394What did you post anon?
>>221979409Shut the fuxk up you monumental faggot.
>>221979394I don't even care about the heckin doots but their rules about banning and mean words are retarded. Can't even call someone a faggot or a retard there, or say that a politician deserves death without getting permabanned for hate speech
