do you live in a walkable city?
>>
>>222028520
Maybe get driving lessons? My uncle took the time to teach me. However, I haven't driven a car in like 5 years. I get really anxious driving and my job isn't that far away from where I live.

No

i can just walk or bike nearby if i need something
>>

It depends. If you live in big city, a lot of people can't drive
>>
>>222028520
Yes
>>
>>222028520
You deserve to be bullied. I understand not owning a car which is still semi cringey but not even knowing how to drive is pretty faggot.
>>
Mid 30s here. Never even got a learner's permit. Driving sucks.
>>
>>222028520
I'm 35 and have no license. Never needed one, not gonna pay €2500+ for something that will just sit in my wallet.

>>
Does milk come out of your man boobs?
>>
Other than commuting to and from work, what is the use case of a car?
Bicycles are much better.
If you own and drive a car you pay for a bunch of things that you can't avoid just because you own the car.
>>
i can drive and i have a car but i only drive 1 time every 5 years

How do you do big shopping trips without a car?
How do you drive to a national park or whatever without a car?
>>
>>222030800
Get a bicycle with a bag, carry your groceries.
Live near a forest or something.
>>
>>222030823
Bicycle isn't going to carry 2 weeks of shopping and if you're living somewhere remote, you need a car even more
>>
>>222030836
Depends on what you are buying of course but I usually shop every week, groceries for two weeks could be overwhelming, I agree.
But with a car, other than paying for fuel, you have to pay for using the roads, insurance, mandatory inspections and so on and so forth.
It is a big humiliation ritual aimed at punishing the citizen for owning a vehicle.

I work analyzing car accidents and I've seen 3 absolutely puke inducing fatalities involving cyclists and motor cyclists. Every single one the person on the bike was at fault. In two because they went through intersections when they shouldn't. Third was speeding while lane splitting. Two of them involved extreme squishing.
>>
>>222031337
Because of the safe roads and good driving culture here, cyclists believe they can do anything and act extremely entitled.
>>
>>222028520
I learned to drive and got my driving license when i was 18 and have been driving since then.
>>
>>222028520

>>
YANKS HAVE NO RIGHT TO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE, YOU ALL HAVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND NO SIDEWALKS
>>
>>222028520
same, driving is a sign of servitude, that you are willing to operate a certain transportation machine, feeding that machine a liters of oil, pay for that machine maintenance, all so that you can take yourself somewhere to serve someone or something. I refuse to engage in such humiliating situation
>>
>>222028520

Commoners are actually worse at driving because they are not as adaptable as neurodivergent drivers.
>>
>>222033114
i dont think so. requires intuition and quick adaptation that normals have,

how does that even work in your country? you guys are just as (if not more) car-reliant as we are? do you have a job?
>>
I want to drive but cars terrify me and the thought of driving one almost makes me want to cry because of how overwhelming it feels
>>
as a girl 23 almost i don't have a driver license, i use no public transport, I'm just a passenger princess sometimes. Driver license is too expensive and a car also if you have no help
>>
>>222028520
Do you need to or want to? If not - fuck that. Some unc advice though - it takes a lot of time to get your licence when you actually need one. Invest a few holidays and get it hassle free - feels better than running around with a flaming asshole
>>
>>222036860
Almost nobody can in this economy.
This is why car manufacturers are lobbying to make governments forcefully retire older cars and force citizens to buy newer ones.

>>222036921
The trick is in the proper positioning of the mirrors.

What? Why would I need a car to live?
>How do you get to work?
I walk. Takes 15-20 minutes. 5 minutes on my bike.
>Don't you ever have travel far from your house with luggage?
If I travel I take a taxi to the airport and go by plane. And the parking at the airport is infamously shit so driving there would be retarded.

But also, neither of my parents have driver licenses. Never did. Grew up on bicycles and public transport.

I always have been used for me it's normal to walk 45 min to go somwhere, I don't understand people who complain for 15 min
>>
>>222037802
I guess this would depend on if you had to be somewhere urgently for work related reasons or health issues.
>>
>>222037825
Yes of course I understand but even for work it doesn't bother me to walk but if someone has serious health issues it can be understandable that this person can not walk far away
>>
>>222028520
31, soon 32 and I have no choice since I'm legally blind and not allowed to drive. I walk everywhere and don't even use the bus because those fucking destination signs are nearly impossible to read for me unless I get a seat right under them.
>>
>>222037944
Damn this sucks, how do you use the computer or the phone?
>>
>>222037971
Just like you do. Being legally blind doesn't mean completely blind.
My eye sight is extremely bad but I can read a screen if I bump the size up and use my glasses.
My visual field is 19 degrees (normal is around 180) and my sight is 0.05 on the Swe-scale or 20/400 on the burger scale.
>>
>>222030221
Carpool. Let some other cuck pay tax and insurance. I just put in a few bucks for gas. If I want to go somewhere in town I walk or take the bus depending where it is.
>>
>>222029672
already answered that
>>
why should I pay 4000eur for a drivers license?
now I will have to pay road tax yearly, pay for fuel, pay for the car + maintenance, and pay with my time. I prefer cycling like a free man. I can go anywhere, using the most energy efficient vehicle on earth powered by my own body. W-what if I have to go somewhere far? I cycle to the trainstation. I can do whatever I want in the train, instead of being a half-cuck focused on driving.
