I think the "don't wash with dish soap" was a thing when the soaps where harsher. I think you can wash it with with soap. Did you heat it up after washing it and then applied oil and heat up again? It has to change colour eventually and become darker, you can check videos on youtube.

For the morter just wash it then, if it's smooth there's no need to season it, at least I didn't.

Arborio rice is the one you make risotto with, it's harder and whiter and has more starch hence why it's used for risotto :D

Jasmine rice is very delicate, it makes sense it didn't break because the surface of the morter is smooth and not abrasive so there's no friction when it contact with the rice, it just slides in your case.

Here we only have medical student Indians and they are mostly female - that's who I've interacted with most. And a few restaurants run by Indians. Good, did it change colour though. I think with cooking it in it will get seasoned anyway. Just use some fat/oil the first times you are cooking in it.

Yes, a couple of them. I take enanthyum 3 times a day each 8 hours, and the other one (I don't remember the name) once a day. I hope it keeps having a positive effect.

I also have only two gas stove tops that I use (have two electric which I never use unless th gas runs out) but I made the small balcony near my kitchen into a second cooking place, bought on of those single gas stoves and put a range hood that is for frying so I don't stink up the apartment.
