The current head of product at Twitter is a really good example of this. He made some chat app, advertised it to teenagers that blew up and sold it to Discord then they shut it down then he made the exact same application and sold it to Facebook and they immediately shut it down too lol. A lot of startups are just scams like. Companies like Athropic and OpenAI and many of these that ended up succeeding were not the typical garage startup but very well connected people with access to billion of dollars in funding. Not the typical startup situation as people imagine
