Swarms of roaches, mosquitos, termites, fleas, etc. Loud, smelly, rude people who leave trash everywhere and speak the most disgusting dialects of Spanish (Cuban, Honduran, Dominican). Worst drivers in the USA and you MUST drive in this city. Nobody has insurance btw and if there's any accident that doesn't total the car they just speed off. Incredibly low trust society. There's no actual social cohesion beyond InterMiami or party "culture", each multigenerational household keeps to themselves and does everything together (e.g. the entire family has to go out for shopping). Everyone is suspicious of their neighbors and gossips incessantly. There's no arts scene whatsoever beyond clubbing and maybe some music acts. Nobody reads, much less in English. Millions of immigrants throughout the decades came over just to get money, not caring about anything. They don't care about bettering themselves or changing their habits, they come over to make more money to live like rich third worlders Now they can watch anime on a bigger flatscreen, eating more expensive takeout after a day at their construction job. Everything is about status. You'll see decrepit houses with rusty iron fences have a Tesla and two other cars parked outside. Ask yourself "what would a given Honduran do if you gave him $60k/year. Now make an entire city out of that. All with the highest cost of living in USA tooThe only upside is the lack of pesticides. Tropical fruit and other edible plants grow everywhere and it's all safe to eat. Very good place for foraging. Except you have to be quick about it because workers will roam around with ladders and cherrypickers harvesting coconuts, mangoes, etc all for themselves. Mongrels all of themI hate this place so much. Broward is better, but it's just Jacksonville with more Russians / Jews. There are old rich people but they're mostly in Venice / Sarasota now, the city is skewing younger, for some reason we're having a real boom in population growth.

The things that the US considers cities aren't in any way even remotely comparable to most of the world, if you're near a highway and have utilities they'll consider that urban. Suburban is considered urban as well. You could be 100 miles from a major city center and still be part of a metro area, it's not like Tokyo where everything in the metro is condensed where everything is hooked up to a sewer system vs. a suburb with septic tanks.
