Recommend reading dakdok's honest translation: https://thechristianprince.com/EBOOKS/The_Generous_Quran.pdf

Then hopping over to altafsir.com in arabic, as googling in English is usually extremely misleading/edited/whitewashed.

Famous example, muslims in English telling their critics "nooo saghirun isn't humiliated, it just means humbled tee-hee" then you read the actual scholars in Arabic on that verse and they're like "humiliate and subjugated those kaffir bastards"

>>222064011
It's not a rehash as it doesn't just omit a huge part of the Bible, it quite literally changes every story and character heavily.

But yeah, the islamic dilemma is pretty solid (and there are several verses that support it).

Religion is entirely thirdie coded. It’s no coincidence that irreligious countries are entirely better off in every metric. The more educated a society becomes, the less inclined they are to belong to a religion.

Recommend watching Christian Prince. He's a bit abrasive but dayum does the dude destroy islam and all the muslims that call in (he's an Arab Christian who quite literally studied islamic law).

Always funny to see muslims try the "oh but you don't know the arabic" when the dude is literally an arab speaker and proceeds to correct them.

Same for Rob Christian.

There's also Jai and DoC who are also arab Christians - they have a great set of videos on the qira'at and ahruf and often debate arab muslims on it.

on the other hand, the guy who comes with completely new arguments and incredibly deep ones is Rob from Sentinel Apologetics, super worth watching.
>>

You underestimate the incredibly strong brainwashing they suffer since they're born. Not to mention the massive family/social costs of leaving it. It's literally a cult.

If anything that'd be wisdom, not intelligence - and nope, plenty of idiots.

Central teaching of Christianity is the complete opposite of islam's:
>muslims are the best of all, even above the angels (Abu huraira iirc)
>Jews and Christians are the worst of all creation (98:6)

In Christianity we view EVERYONE as equally broken and sinful.
>>
>>222067377
>that irreligious countries are entirely better off in every metric.
That's not what the studies say.

Recommend reading up all the studies done by Davis Brown, Jonathan Fox and a few others (will check my obsidian for names).

On basically every metric Christian societies ein, from pro social effects to reduced strife to a strong negative correlation on interstate conflict to even reduced discrimination and persecution of religious minorities and non-religious groups (with a minor effect of slightly intensified friction with minority Christian denoms)
>>
I read the Quran and the experience was shit.
It's boring and repetitive in the first part because all it says is that "Non-Muslins go to hell", "Allah is merciful", "blah-blah-blah", and what I find interesting is that sometimes it says nice stuff about Non-Muslims but later kn it just talks shit about them and the funny thing is that Muslims don't know anything about other religions and usually get stuff wrong about other religions (Islamic dilemma) and some dumb stuff like Muhammad splitting the moon, worshiping and licking the Kaaba Don't even get me started on the Hadiths, like its just dumb prophecies and dumb retarded stories like Muhammad raping Aisha at 9, People who leave Islam should be killed, Satan peeing in someone's ear, Muhammad French kissing his grandson, A stone stealing Moses chlotes, Muhammad raping sex slaves, dogs should be killed, abusing women, etc. When I started learning about Islam I fell for the Islamic scholars and the Islamic apologists until I found out about the sick stuff in Islam now I don't want to ever be a Muslim.

Muhammad was such a weird sick man and Islam is such a weird sick religion. I honestly wish I never learned about Islam because the more I learn about Islam I just get more sick of Islam.
>>

reading and engaging with it is different. I do really enjoy it's style, you'll see what i mean when you get into it.

>You don't know why we reject the original sin doctrine
I'm speaking about Christianity and this is a complete non-reply.

A reply is either:
>refute 98:6 exists or the belief in the supremacy of the mu2min
>refute Christians don't believe in the sinful nature of man, imago dei, and that all broken and sinful

To do (2), you'd essentially need to prove that in every church we're told to rip out parts of the Bible, but to tell non-Christians we believe in them but in fact don't.

You think Augustine time travelled and added verses to the Bible? First all the way back to BC times to meddle with Psalms and Jeremiah then fast-forwarded to the 1st Century and tampered with Ephesians and Romans?

About as insane as saying the shahada was an invention by later muslims when it's just piecing two verses together or that tawhid was invented later when the quran clearly states it

That Armenian story of the Hogwarts school of Magic is biblical?
The green man?
The smashing of the idols by Abraham?
The birds of clay?
The entire fake story of Moses?

I honestly can't think of a single story that isn't heavily distorted and unrecognizable.

Where are all the stories from the majority of the OT?

The reason to a Christian almost all of it is unrecognizable is because he copied from non-biblical sources: either apocrypha or literal jewish folk tales

I admire it's metaphysical simplicity, speaks to my sense of rationality (concepts like eternally begetting, incarnation, most of the trinitarian models, hypostatic unions, etc don't). I believe man has an inherent perception of God, as a creation of purity and light, with genuine propensity towards good. And throughout the ages, he has been seeking this answer; even were he from an estranged tribe of Idol worshippers, there will be those that converge upon this certain Truth.
>And when they listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger, you will see their eyes overflowing with tears because of they have recognised the truth. They will say: 'Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses. (Surah Al-Ma'idah)

rationality generally conflicts with the issues of the quran

It is a very interesting passage, because not only does it affirm christianity, but also directly states muslims and christians were meant to be seperate.
So you shouldnt even convert christians to islam
But what is the main teaching of the gospel?
That jesus is Lord
So if the quran affirms the bible and teaches us to judge by it, then islam is false
was looking forward to this part, its very damning
I dont really see how muslims can talk their way out of it, the corrupted scripture argument does not hold any weight, if the scripture is corrupt, then why would it say to judge by it?
One punch K.O. the way I see it
I guess there is really no point in reading further then this, its gonna be just more of the same talk about hellfire and marriage laws and disfigured bible stories
Jeet if you are still awake, i am dying to hear your response to this
You say you are muslim because of the simplicity and logic, yet Islam is entirely based on the older religions, it is islams foundation, you cannot have one without the other.
And since is islam is so different, you need to bend the old scriptures by saying they are corrupted and whatnot, even if we have proof that the quran is alot more corrupted then the bible
We know the bible has not changed since the 7th century and before, when it was affirmed by your quran
This is the issue with writing a fan faction, you cannot break canon
It would have been better to write something original instead but thats hard i guess, too much effort

One of the Medinians in the army who had been in actual battles before asked him several times if his plan was his own idea or came to him from Allah.

After Muhammad confirmed that it was his own idea, the Medinian explained to him it's flaws and proposed a superior plan. Muhammad saw the wisdom of this and switched the plan. The Muslims then won a surprise victory.

Under modern Islamic rules, the Medinian should have been beheaded by the most Paki-like of the sahaba for suggesting that not everything he did was perfect and divinely inspired and the Muslim army would have then gotten slaughtered by the Quraysh.

fairly certain Jews do it, plenty of Christians as well.

Though very reasonable for a war cult to mandate it.

id recommend reading the quran a bit, atleast untill the islamic dilemma part
it is interesting, how can so many people follow a book such badly written
man
man
the more you look at islam the more it falls apart
in the end, a loving god would not throw you into hell forever just because you followed the wrong religion with the limited information available
Being a christian and trying to be a good person seems the most reasonable way to go
Altough I find the fear nonsense really tiring in general
Two sides deathly convinced of being right, maybe neither is, and then everyone who is wrong gets to suffer for being born in the wrong family/stumbling on the wrong scripture?
It is really not fair at all if you think about it
Yes I am a christian, but would I also be a christian if I was born in a muslim country and was raised muslim?
Probably still for me since I am interested in researching theology, but what about an average guy who has no real interest?
He is following the religion he was born into no questions asked
It seems only god knows what he is thinking
Maybe its just funny

Don't forget the battle of Badr is where momo fought his own kin, after having pillaged his own people's caravans and raided and murdered them.

Funniest one is Uhud - they actually found him playing dead KEK

Did you miss my comments man? Have done it a few times, plenty tafsirs, the sirat and a few more things.

Even posted you my fav quran version earlier (Dakdok)

What an incredible sludge, at least it's a short book.

>Being a christian and trying to be a good person seems the most reasonable way to go
Definitely check out Inspiring Philosophy's older videos. He used to do very deep dives on difficult topics one wrestles with.
I personally never the problem of evil difficult, it seems like the inevitable consequence of free will and also that many things considered evil are actually neutral (a thunderstorm striking a tree that falls on a person isn't evil, you need intent behind it, which comes from free will). I found harmonizing genesis with evolution (I'm a physicist, so I lean scientific) as well as the exodus accounts difficult.

Saving people by converting them seems like a noble goal
But the other side of the coin, failing to convert people, damning them
Doesnt seem fair
So maybe a christian has an answer for this, it just troubles me a bit now that I think about it
The old interpretation that non baptized dont get to enjoy gods love, its a bit sad
I am not baptized yet but a believer, cut off from god forever if I die before I can make it happen?
I will read what you have posted maybe it explains it
>>
>>222075187
>if I was born in a muslim country and was raised muslim?
For many, it seems like they are leaving it, for secularism or Christianity in large swathes. The information age really killed the religion as it has no intellectual defense, just "silence of I kill you".

>Probably still for me since I am interested in researching theology, but what about an average guy who has no real interest?
That's the remainder of the Middle east. I truly suspect if Satan kicking off such a bizarre religion that leads to inbreeding was a long term plan to ensure many would lack the cognitive resources to actually get out.

>The old interpretation that non baptized dont get to enjoy gods love, its a bit sad
>I am not baptized yet but a believer, cut off from god forever if I die before I can make it happen?
Well, I'm a credobaptist (believer's baptism) and find baptism to be the symbolic step of a spiritual process.

Read Acts and 1 Corinthians to get a better sense for the role of baptism.

As per salvation: Romans 10:9-13 is probably the most concise definition of salvation.

>Saving people by converting them seems like a noble goal
That's the whole goal. Much of my time offline is spent on that and helping the local church community.

Don't be sad about the things you haven't, be excited for the things you will do!

And Wha'bbi B'ugho went into Shabi Al-Salad and said: "I saw the prophet (PUBE) was with constipation (fuqiya al-tu'ut) behind a riding stone and so he took a chicken (sha'haq tafiir) and he bashed it on the riding stone (haz'salnii) until it was dead. The he did a hoot'hooya with it and it was made jam'jeer. O' brother the prophets fahd'hooq then flowed brown like al-niyl. The hooya of the chicken was made to be ja'feem so the hoot'hoot was now whammi as before the shu'fuhd was shammi and the constipation was made gone, alfatimhallhamdilliah."

My take on Genesis is that it’s (at least to chapter 11 or so) not a scientific book and was not intended to be read as one. It’s telling the story of why man exists and what his place is in the natural order of things
>exodus
A channel called inspiring philosophy has a good breakdown of this. tldr sometime in the mid 1200s BC there’s evidence of a semitic people leaving egypt and then a few decades later a population explosion in the levant, along with a bunch of other things that line up pretty nice with the bibical exodus and conquest accounts

So, I actually went down a rabbit hole of the converts and their lifecycle and unironically it's one of the strongest pipelines to go from "ignorant to Christian" and "ignorant to atheist" I have ever seen.

They have a very well-defined script (not joking, I have a few of their scripts downloaded directly from their websites that I use to give presentations to young Christians at the local churches to be prepared and know how to counteract - exactly how mosques give the same anti-christian classes).

Their best scripts are the ones targeting western seculars whose last contact with Christianity was when they were 5 years old if ever and they just have this extremely vague "there's a God, there's a guy named Jesus who died for our sins, don't know much more".

They then bombard them with attention and lies - if it's muslim "friends" they'll harp on about how awesome it would be if they became muslim, simultaneously completely lying about islam. Dudes play a slightly different playbook. They usually target vulnerable, gullible women.

After the vulnerable convert and start to become interested in religion, they start realizing holy crap this is abominable, and leave.

Approximately 75% leave after 2-3 years. At that point though, they now have a deep interest in religion and have either gone into Christianity having studied extremely in-depth, or go full hardcore atheist.

Btw, this is very different from cradle muslims, who either stay "secular muslim", indistinguishable in how they vote and causes they support from other muslims due to the brutally engrained tribalism OR they go extremely anti-islam to levels that even give me a run for my money.
