I've been to the hood before in several cities, and even before the recent economic downturn and the crisis in the middle east, i noticed gas was 7 or 8 dollars a gallon, twice the normal price i pay. Ridiculous. If someone lived there, they wouldn't be able to afford to leave. It might cost your entire weekly paycheck to fill your vehicle with fuel.

That means everyone is treated as a human being, including the criminals with housing that reaches the basic levels of comfort all Scandis are expected to have. I know America and thirdie countries base their entire prisoner system on revenge and I totally understand that. But you cannot have our system in place without treating everyone equally, it falls apart the moment you start choosing who can/cannot have it. The point of Scandi prisons is to remove dangerous individuals from society and that is achieved. Exacting further punishment is pointless. Perhaps not to the loved ones of the victims but you if reverse the rolls and ask any mother if they want their child living in torture and horrible conditions due to a crime they have committed and it's very different. If you ask me there shouldn't be any prison at all for criminals like Brevik. He's never gonna be released and he's never gonna become normal. The moment he was found guilty they should just have executed him.
