Why do they hate each other if they're the same country?
they're both angry nations for some reason
>>222109960Nah, we're good

>>222110276they've been done
I love them actually
>>222110380How is Korean puss?
>>222109960>be me>reading about occupation period>japanese govt spread the propaganda that Koreans and Japanese are the same people>oh wow so wholesome they were not racist>read the rest of what Japan did>oh.gif

>>222110423How's life in Luxembourg?
>>222110695I don't know how's life in America? I've lived here my whole life so living in a small city that has all the amenities of a capital is all I know. I take the bus everywhere, biking is not so efficient because the city has big height differences. By "real country" standards it's a village. There's another "city" 30 minutes by car to the south with an old iron industry, go further than that and you're already in Fr*nce. Luxembourg city is full of banks and international institutions. And the north is really nice mid sized mountains, luxembourgish appalachians if you will. It used to be the cliche that there is zero social life here (at least for young people) but nowadays you see a lot of places where young people socialize so it's really on me that I'm posting on 4chan.

>>222110212>>222110380>>222110511How often do South Koreans talk about North Korea?
>>222111476After the military service, normies talk about NK once in a year
>>222111604Does it feel strange to have your own people locked away in some bizzare commie dictatorship?
>>222112173Its bizarre but most of Koreans dont think them as our own pp. They are just weak enemy.
>>222112413>most of Koreans dont think them as our own pp.That's crazy because they are i guess it was required for state propaganda to create such a feeling
>>222112448It's exactly opposite. The more you mention North Korea, the more you are treated as a North Korean spy. To maintain the South Korean military, they must be treated as enemies
>>222112413>>222112448>That's crazyAfter what 80 years of separation?…It's really sad, unified Korea would be so kino
>>222112512that was the point i was making, the north korean state is a threat to you, so your government also needs you to see north korean avg people as an other
>>222112173most people with separated families in north korea have passed awayas you know just sharing the same race doesn't really matter all that much especially for younger generation
>>222112549yeah but it happened in the 20th century so things have been preserved and neither korea has had massive immigration or anything like that. they are still the same people, just one side is very impoverished by communism.
>>222112606aren't many people trying to escape to your side all the time?
>>222112572Koreans talk casually about the US, China, and Japan overwhelmingly more than they do about North Korea. Yeah over the past few years, Ive heard people talk more about France or the UK more than about North Korea.North Korea itself is not the talk matter in a regular place. So Koreans feel pissed off when gaijins bring up North Korea as soon as they meet at the first place. And because most of Koreans are bloody indoctrinated with stories about North Korea from the military or high school, they avoid such discussions on purpose after the time
>>222112712the numbers dropped after COVID but people still come here every year I just don't know the exact number the most famous defector recently that I can think of is the diplomat from the north korean embassy in cuba
>>222112638I guess so. I have sometimes tried to imagine how a unification process could look like. But when Germany unified, there were still things like family links across the inner-German border. Even so, when the unification happened after about 40 years many East Germans perceived it as annexation and assimilation. East Germany also struggled to recover from communism, meanwhile West Germans complained that they have to pay subsidies to lazy ex communists. My point is it is very difficult to imagine Korea becoming one nation again. The intra Korean racism would be insane.
>>222112766Is it true you get sent to jail if you even make a funny face when you're visiting the demilitarized zone?My dad visited in 2002 for the world cup and he went to the border and was told that, because you aren't allowed to do anything the North Koreans might think is mocking them
>>222112876it would be chaos because of how much more developed the south is, but doing it could benefit them long term, they have low birth rates and labour shortages. unifying with the north would mean they don't need to import jeets, etc>>222112766that makes sense, very sad that all those people are trapped in some retarded commie dictatorship
>>222110946Is it hard avoiding falling into space?
>>222112969kek
>>222112931Most Koreans have never gone there for tourism purposes, nor do they intend to, and they don't really know what laws apply there.
>>222112813have you heard horror stories about how bad it is there? like are well known real stories or urban legends of what it is like in the north
>>222110134Small penis o algo?
>>222112931> Is it true you get sent to jail if you even make a funny face when you're visiting the demilitarized zone?Anon really fell for American and South Korean propaganda
>>222110423Bankrupt Korea begged to be annexed by Japan, so we accepted unwillingly. And now, they insist "We were invaded!"We will never touch Korea.
>>222114530Okay. I am not particularly interested in this topic anyway. I am just autistic so the destruction of cultural artifacts annoys me. I read the palace in Seoul was systematically dismantled for example.
>>222114328The American and South Korean propaganda being my dad who went there in 2004 and told me that
