¿Amas a Puerto Rico?
>>
No because they benefit from American imperialism
>>
>>222285714
Not really, there's more cons than pros to being part of the US, unfortunately. We are a colony.
>>
>>222285549
Garbage island with garbage people who contribute nothing to society besides shitty re-Gay-ton trash. The US government should have sterlized the entire population.

You'd be a colony if we used (or even wanted) you. Fuck off now. You have less dignity as a collective than flips who actually left then bold face lie to other spics about it.

Tengo entendido que cada vez que han hecho una votación para dejar de ser territorio gringo ustedes han votado para seguir siendo parte de USA...

No.
>>222291015
Es cierto, pero hay que tener en cuenta que tuvimos una represión masiva por alrededor de 50 años en contra del movimiento independentista, durante cual nos crearon dependencia liquidaron el movimimiento. No es por nada que al principio objetaron a tener votaciones.

I've been told that most Puertoricans can't speak a word of Spanish.
Is that correct? People here believe that Spanish is the day-to-day language over there and you only speak English occasionally, but I think it's the other way around.

>I've been told that most Puertoricans can't speak a word of Spanish.
Completely wrong. Due to politics, our level of English is actually very low, with only 60% speaking it somewhat decently. Spanish is the day-to-day language, public schooling and higher education are all in Spanish, and only rich kids can afford private English schooling. I personally learned English with TV and the internet.
I imagine it's similar in the rest of Latin America.

>longest life expectancy in Latin America
>can legally move to the US and make firstie wages
>almost none of us move to Puerto Rico so you aren't even getting displaced
What exactly is so bad about being our "colony"? I say this as someone who thinks Puerto Rico should be allowed independence if that's what most Puerto Ricans want (it isn't).
>>
looks cosy, might colonize

PRs are based af for blasting reggaeton all night just to piss off gringos as revenge for still being a colony.
>>
>>222295543
>all that money goes to US corporations and never stays in the country
>maybe true, idk, idc
>implying having to move to another country for a better life is a good thing
>more and more gringos are moving to PR due to our colonial government handing out incentives to individuals, which the native population can't afford
That's not even considering the fact that we can't even import goods from other countries without it coming from the US itself, meaning everything is more expensive and we have the highest cost of living in LatAm. So yes, we are being displaced slowly through incoming gringos, the fact our women were sterilized without consent for around 50 years, and the cost of living skyrockets while native wages stay low.
The US wants another Hawaii, we've just been a lot harder to control due to the strength of the Catholic Church (I'm atheist, but Hawaii was first colonized by Protestant missionaries so it's relevant) and the strength of language and ethnolinguistic identity.
It's true a small majority has voted for statehood, but their numbers are rapidly declining.

It's a cheap Temu national pride. If it was real nationalism you'd want to be a proud independent nation. But you're cucks, you don't even want to be a country.

So? Still shit music

>>222296444
I don't really believe in "real nationalism" BS but I do believe in independence for Puerto Rico, so, there's me. And lots of others like me. The people who want statehood are a small and declining majority, it's only a matter of time. Trust the plan.
