In my city's sub-Reddit there are regular threads seething about the beggars who are not actually homeless or hungry (which is most of them). They just have chaotic lives and commute into town to beg, shoplift and buy drugs. They bring homeless LARP uniform with them like old blankets and stuff. The sun brings them out.

We do have them but too many are fakes now just trying to scam you. The classic alcoholics who'd ask you for vodka money and then you'd go to the shop and get them some actual food are completely gone. Now it's a bunch of frauds with social housing who will straight up ask you to just buy them food, and if you accept they'll pick the most expensive shit possible. Then they'll buy electronics, new clothes or cigs with what they saved. I never gave either type any money, but I remember my father would buy food for the classic genuine alcoholics since he grew up poor.

My ex used to feed them poison to try and keep them off her streets. She lived in a good and shiny neighboorhood but it was full of old people so naturally beggars gravitated to it because old people just give them money without caring much for it. She used to send me videos showing me how she prepared it and where she got the ingredients and once sent me a video of her poking a guy who clearly wasnt breathing at all. The government here doesnt really care to test and prolly just picks their body up, burns it and throws their ashes away so no one gives a fuck
Dont know how I felt safe with her but I dont think I ever loved someone so strongly
