How did Japan become such a popular touristic destination? Because the country is actually pretty bland.

good luck
>>
>>222295532
Replace japan with dubai and it's the same thing. It's called kitsch
>>
>>222295532
Looks more civilized than Paris.
>>
>>222295532
what's ugly about that random back alley?
look good to me, very clean, everything is orderly and maintained, mogs any random french back alley and I've been there
>>
>>222295556
?
For what? If you live in Europe you seriously can't think Nagoya, Osaka or Fukuoka look better than Rome, Budapest or Vienna.
>>
>>222295598
It looks like a random suburbs in France, hastily built in the 60s. It's grey everywhere full of electric cables. It basically looks like a poor country.

The rural Japan is even worse. It's full of rusted steel. It really does look like a slum.
>>
>>222295532
I'd give 5 years of my life to teleport into that comfy backstreet right now.
>>
>>222295635
it's very clean and very impeccable in terms of the roads and utilities (VRD as you say in french), landscaping, etc.
if you want to see a failed approach of this style check south korea or china, they both try to do this but get it worse, let alone actual thirdy shitholes which don't even come close
I guess europe has some impressive classical architecture like parisian haussmanian buildings, but the average urban or rural landscape is just better in japan
>>
>>222295780
Japan is a fine country. But aesthetically it's ugly.
>>
>another bait thread about Japan made by browns/muslimes
>>
that particular street is rather bland but in general Japan is kino
>>
>>222295532
I like how narrow the streets are and all the little shrines with swastikas almost hidden in alleyways, also the mix-used housing that lets you build houses, apartment blocks, industrial crap all next to each other. It's not that different from how most Euro cities were rebuilt cheaply after the war. But Japanese people and their spaces are still too small, I'm only 182cm but could barely fit in my Japanese friend's apartment.

thank you for proving my point
this is an "american" looking place in france, first one I found at random, the road is in a worse state, the grass isn't maintained, sidewalks are crooked, it's dirty
small details like this make japan mog any country in the world, because it extends to the whole country, and not select few areas

I have, I spend a lot of time google street, geoguessr, etc. I have an idea of what your average area looks in japan, europe, US, thirdie shitholes
I dropped myself into a rural area of japan at random, haven't moved at all, this to me looks representative of rural or semi-rural japan more than the picture you posted which I'd have to look hard to find something like that

There used to be another similar house where the parking lot is now. These two houses were very close to each other, so I guess the owners didn't bother decorating the walls that couldn't be seen.
>>
>>222296483
Lurk more. Rural Japan is depressing as fuck and in complete decline. The average house look like shit because it often was built after the war when Japan was poor and it remained that way.
>>
>>222296574
nah, houses in japan get torn down and rebuilt all the time, they have a low average lifespan, rare to find something from ww2, you have to go looking for a dump like what you're posting

What are you talking about. No, not everything in Japan is constantly brand new. Some people are poor and live in shitty houses. That's just how it is. This kind of scenery isn't weird for japanese people, it's just how it is.

Believe whatever you want. Do you really think it's weird that a country losing 800 000 people per year, where a piece of land in a rural place can be bought for 9000 yens will experience a more brutal decline in small towns where no one want to live anymore?

I'm talking about perception of Japan here and wider internet. Normies are irrelevant because they go to the most touristy spots. Japan looks quite rustic, disorganised, and outdated. Look at this, this is how most of Japan actually looks like. Everyone lives packed in like sardines.

Because nothing new has been built in japan since your economy collapsed in the 90s, Japan looks nearly the same as it did in the 80s and 90s

Zoomers are the most pathetic generation that has ever existed and also the first generation to worship black people, so its no wonder this generation worships a shitty country like japan

Also it seems like japan is also popular with women and subhumans since it has everything they could want in a country, so there is also that
>>

>It's grey everywhere full of electric cables.
it is not the same as it is not the same as 60s air cabling. nipps use different approach for power distribution and perhaps, it prevents them from taking wires underground in space limited places.
note the mast attached cylinders - those are probably 6.6kV to 110V transformers, there is no chance to mount them underground (no space) or within buildings (dangerous).

I mean I do not think Japanese cities are considered "beautiful" in a traditional sense but that does not stop them from being really fun
Plus Tokyo is really giant, it makes European capitals look like a small town so you get that same feeling as you would from going from a small town to a large city

There are obvious downsides to density but keep in mind that in Europe pre-war dense neighborhoods are a lot more pleasant than the several times less densely populated cold war era housing projects (the countries that have them anyway)
>>
>>222295532
All of europe basically looks like the same country with maybe switzerland and denmark being higher tier than usual. Europe largely looks old and dirty in general. Even worse than north america.

No.

I love the nice music background footages and scenes of Tokyo skyline, from monorail windows, roofs, building windows and trains on Youtube, probably the last content I ever enjoyed before YT went shit, used to put them for musical backround or on loop on mute to fall asleep faster. The silent walking footage videos of various countries and cities too.
Tokyo from the outside is aesthetic as urban enviroment, maybe not as enjoyable when it comes to living there in first person but can't deny it's unique enough as city development.
Japanese city inhabitants seemed very polite walking around clean streets and well kept places, school kids were lively too when they were heading to school or home. You can't experience this anymore here, even the smaller cities and towns have a problem with the so called diversity, resources and new Italians.
