The absence of a giant temperate forest here leaves a void in me.

This entire region needs to be terraformed.

How come they don’t have any pine growing down there? Central Asian steppe has the thundra and dessert excuse
>>
We should use dynamite to blast a few gaps in that mountain range so Patagonia would get more rainfall and turn green

Araucarias are the South American pine trees.
They look like a mix between a pine tree and a palm tree.
>>
They need forests and jaguars there.

He's talking about Argentine patagonia. It's a cold desert, not a forest. There simply aren't many trees there

History of Iquique, Chile:
Early Cultural and Economic Features
The era of prosperity left a unique imprint on the city's appearance and atmosphere, which persists to this day:

Oregon Pine Architecture: Thanks to active maritime trade with North America, a unique architectural style formed in Iquique. The historic centre was built up with elegant wooden mansions in the Georgian style, many of which are recognised as national monuments.
Environment: Economic opportunities attracted immigrants from all over the world. Communities of British, Germans, Croatians, Chinese, and Italians settled in the city, creating an amazing cultural fusion.
High Standard of Living: During the heyday of the saltpeter industry, Iquique was one of the wealthiest and most technologically advanced cities on the Pacific coast of South America.

The Chilean side of the Patagonia is fully forested. The Argentine side is a desert due to this

And even the Argentine side has forests when you get near the Andes, see pic

It's not ALL a desert, just the part to the right of the cordillera
>>
>>222296531
In the North the opposite happens. The Argentine side has moisture and forests while Chile has the Atacama desert.
Pic is in Salta province, Northwest Argentina.

You can grow crops in Argentina pampas?
In Brazil its only good for cows, rice and some fruit trees. Its not worth It for other crops.
>>
>>222298705
you can, but like with brazil, cows was always prefered, but you had some variety of grows, now it's mostly soy which is more profitable. Here is a picture of a barley plantation
>>
>>222298821
Could they repopulate the pampas with American buffalo?
>>
>>222296681
Just move the ridge over, or shave it down

the pampas was actually full of wild cows and horses, the descendants of spanish cattle from failed expeditions, which the indians hunted and tamed for themselves, in a similar way the indias did in the southwest of United States. Now the cows and horses are fully domesticated by great landowners, there's no site for wild animals. The Patagonia is full of wild animals, they reintroduced the puma there recently and they're thriving in great numbers hunting penguins

some are
they measured this one time in the US when they shut down all air traffic in 2001 and the cloud density dropped because no chemtrails. this shifted ground temperatures from the usual mean.

jet engines and kerosene/hydrogen rockets all have water as their exhaust so it makes clouds.
