I live on the same fucking neighboorhood this happened, it's quite prestigious here ironically and im very grateful that something bizarre like this happened, it's about time. There's an unbearable amount of air traffic, every day I see helicopters buzzing up and down my apartment for no good reason just to stop at some unknown A and B, it's just very abnormal air traffic and I don't know where the hell there are so many heliports here in Barra, it's like 8-9 every fucking day on the same lane. A neighbor of mine even sent a letter to the city about it but obviously they didn't listen or really give a fuck. On the bright side, after such a ridiculous incident, at least they'll put up some basic regulation for helicopters in this place, THERE'S AN AIRPORT SUPER NEARBY TOO WHY ARE THEY STOPPING AT LIKE SHOPPING MALLS AND SHIT, they have the infrastructure for it.
Bunch of new rich assholes. This side of the city is full of thieves, vigaristas, people involved in some kind of corrupt shit, drug dealers and snobs. It's fairly recent and marketing itself as the new fancy place in Rio but everyone is rotten to the core compared to where the more rooted and actually rich aristocrats live by the south side of the city (Flamengo, Ipanema, Copacabana, the places non brazilians prolly heard of more)
At least 3 people in my condo have just dissapeared due to being involved with narco traffic

>>222329712
Nope, my apartment is not super close to where they fly (7th floor) but I can always see them from my living room window and I can still hear their awful engine and blade noises all the way from here every time they pass by and they always decide to do so when im reading or working. I cant imagine how shitty it must be for the ones on the 12th top floor to listen to this grime. I dont know why dickheads here are so obsessed with flying helicopters everywhere all the damn time, I knew it was just a matter of time for some horrid accident to happen

Deadass its just this. 2 family members of mine work at ANAC (the agency responsible for this shit) and they all claim its a mess of people just barely patching things up and calling losses a big sucess while companies just deny taking proper safety precautions when building aircraft to cut costs. Like any bureocratic enviroment be it a public or corporate one you cant say the truth and the fact you know everything is falling apart you just have to nod along and call it a sucess. but cars are a lot more dangerous than helicopters. most people spend most of their lives driving and all it takes is one oncoming vehicle losing control and veering into your lane and you are dead. you are always 10 foot away from a head-on collision. don't try to rationalize it like that. it is not going to work.

>>
>>222337660
Any pics of Peter Blake's corpse?
>>
>>222328829
It's not even close actually. Motorcycles are the most dangerous by a pretty huge margin, followed by bus/train then personal vehicle/light trucks. Helicopters are about 2.99 per 100k operating hours which is actually pretty solid
>>
>>222337689
you have control over your bike or car tho. Of course drunk and retarded drivers may kill you, but you can minimize the risks with several precautions.
An helicopter accident never results in just a scratched bumper or a broken leg, but certain death
>>
>>222332267
They're actually less dangerous than even driving, statistically
>>
>>222337752
If you had helicopters being used as frequently as motorcycles or cars you can beat this shit would be much more deadlier than both
>>
>>222337742
Not true. You can glide a helicopter to a safe landing in the event of loss of engine power or tail rotor effectiveness. No aircraft is going to shrug off a midair collision
>you have control of your bike/car
I will spare you the definition of per capita for brevity's sake, but actually trained and licensed pilots will be far and away better prepared to operate their vehicles than your average schmuck behind the wheel of a shitbox. Are you genuinely suggesting the general public is better able to operate a motor vehicle than people trained, vetted and experienced for the purpose?

>>
>>222338165
You are retarded, you havent consider that cars, motorcycles, trucks, are used in the same lanes, constantly, non stop.
There are many less helicopters around, so less possibility of one hitting another. Now imagine if every person that has a car or a moto had an helicopter instead, how deadly would the Air space be?
>>
>>222338225
Why would you think aircraft do not also fall into "lanes"? Why would you think that this would only become more regimented as the airspace became fuller? Why would you think any of this has to do with how safe travel by road vehicle per 100k hours of operation is compared to how safe travel by helicopter per 100k hours of operation? Wtf does your asinine question have to do with any of this? You don't understand statistics or helicopters, clearly
>>
>>222338260
nigga you are just wrong. per capita of what? all the population of USA?
If you want lethality data that makes any sense at all you use exposure based accident rate (accidents per 100k hours of use) which makes helicopters 100 times more dangerous than commercial airlines and 30 times more dangerous than cars per hour of driving
