I don't mind ethnic indians who are second-generation and have been fully raised in a western culture with western values. For the rest (native Indians or first-generation immigrants) it is a matter of "guilty until proven innocent". There are simply too many shitty ones that have destroyed the reputation of indians as a whole that it is a matter of pragmatism to assume the worst.

I assume most people don't really have very strong feelings about them, much like myself. Basically every Indian here is a relatively recent arrival on a work visa so they're easily one of the least problematic immigrant groups economically and socially.
