I'll start with German food culture.>It's considered extremely inappropriate to serve someone food without an appropriate implement like a platter, you never give a German food by putting it on a table or other furniture and it must never touch the ground>you don't share plates with other people and you never eat out of the same pot, that's considered extremely horrifying and unusual by Germans>you don't soup, stews or anything that is wet with your hands, that's completely unacceptable>if there is a shared mixed grill plate in the middle of the table, you only put on your plate, what you eat and if there is a limited amount of meat, you only pick one and only take another one, when everyone else on the table also already had one, it's considered extremely impolite to aggressively take everything you can without any consideration for other>the fork and knife are there to manipulate and eat the food with, so you don't use your hands, it's very important to learn how to use them, if you want to eat dinner together with Germans>high quality food in good restaurants should not be obscured, it's very unusual for a good restaurant to present their rib-eye-steak drenched in sauce, the guest is supposed to put the sauce on the meat himselfThat's just some of the most important things. I heard we are very different from the Global Average.
we filipinos respect our elders and put their hands on our foreheads, very unique i daresay
>>222377517I don't do/care about any of these.
In my country we have a flying disc toy called a frisbee. throwing it overhand is considered normal and acceptable but if you throw it underhanded this very uncouth because it’s seen as an excessive form of showmanship.
>>222377517In my culture family is important, we respect our elders and we love food.
If you want to be free, you must rebel against your parents or get married. Otherwise, you'll continue to be treated like a child even if you're 50 years old.
>>222377517I don’t think this is a German thing but an educated westerner thing, in general.
>>222377703>It's not an X thing, it's a Y thing>Y being a larger group, which X is definitely and undeniably a part ofSo it's a X thing.
>>222377899So I’m guessing kebabs are an Andorrean thing because they have kebabs in Andorra
>>222377932No? Andorrans are not Turks. Germans however are Westerners. >All Greeks are Human.>All Humans are mortal.>Therefore Greeks are mortal.Basic bitch logic
>>222378033Yes that’s the right conclusion not the one that you did before. >germans do this >the ones that do this are westerners>therefore Germans are westerners
>>222377517>>It's considered extremely inappropriate to serve someone food without an appropriate implement like a platter, you never give a German food by putting it on a table or other furniture and it must never touch the groundWhat kind of jungle nigger are you
>>222378195The entire POINT of this thread is to make fun of the Third World for not having Western table manners, but also to make a more subtle joke, since instead of talking about Western culture, which would immediately make it obvious that it's a Western vs non-Western thing, I talked about German culture.>>222378284Wait, Italians eat food from the floor or from the table?
>>222377517>you never give a German food by putting it on a table or other furniture and it must never touch the groundwhat? you don't just throw food on the ground when you serve people?
I don't know about you weirdos in germany but in the land of the free, we eat hot soup with our bare hands by scooping it up and sipping it loudly while laying on the floor
I have no idea what's different here compared to the 'global average'. Table manners are important and drilled into kids that aren't from povvo families.>elbows off the table>wait for the host to sit down/begin eating before you do>hold your knife and fork properly>don't scoop with your fork>things like peas have to be mushed onto the back of it>don't lick the knife>when eating soup, tilt the bowl away from you to get the last bits, not towards you>ask people politely to pass you items>ask to be excused before leaving the table (for children)My parents were very anal about all this.
