I dont have recommendations because I don't use the YouTube app or website, I use NewPipe and FreeTube. Pretty much only shows me my subscriptions and related videos when one is already playing.

Shorts are insane slop, you can tell YouTube to remove the shorts and they'll be back 5 minutes later. I know there are extensions to hide the shorts but I don't want to miss on the good content that actually appears once in a blue moon.
