My patriotism is constantly bouncing back and forth between hating and realy loving this country. I feel very strongly about the things I hate about brazilians and the general state of affairs here but I also feel super strongly over the things I love and enjoy from living here. It comes from believing there's no better place for me to live in in the whole world besides Rio de Janeiro to hating myself viciously for turning down the opportunities I had to study and live in Europe that I got when I was younger. My life is comfortable the way it is but sometimes I do feel this country is beyond salvation, if my job (lawyer) didnt require having a squeaky clean public image I would have already started doing overly heated speeches about my way of viewing things, people say im good with those things...Currently in a state of national melancholia is all. Many people idealize the flaws in this country to attempt to love it and patch through them instead of loving it despite of its flaws, this is really the main point of disgust I have for the modern brazilian "patriot"Also vira latas who hate their own country and suck off to foreigners who view them (and ALWAYS will view them no matter what, all of them do) as literal subhumans thinking theyre gonna get bonus cookies for humiliating themselves are incredibly gross to me so hating my own country too much would just be hipocriticalIm gonna make history just ya watch
