I did a quick google check and found out genetically they are dacians but they've been romanized so they have a romance language. Their X chromosomes are slavic and Y are mediterean/north african and correspond to ancient rome territory. So they are in fact a fusion of slavs and romans with their women being more slavic and men more Roman.
