Japan is socialist as fuck, for better or for worse. I don't know why many people can't see that.
>>
Well, if you hate it there so much you could always just move back to your hometown in the USA.

we need to be better about taking care of OUR OWN people

i have read japan is a one party state so it checks out. when there are such political structures parties tend to become broad tent to include socialist policies such a welfare and wealth redistribution
>>
>>222424416
I don't hate it. It's just frustrating to see people thinking it's like far-right capitalist hell. It might be hell but it's absolutely not in that way.
>>

>one party state
It's actually not. That's just another common misconseption.
LDP has lost power only a few times in the last 70 years but it's actually not a one party system.
If anything, it's because there are too many political parties, while LDP is being relatively realistic pro-US and frequently replaces their leadership when it's not popular like every two years. That's totally not what one party state is like.
>>
So yeah, gaijins are retarded. At least they are when it comes to Japan.
They barely get anything right.

i don't know, sounds like bullshit. i looked it up and in 80 years you have only have 5 years of combined oposition rule. mexico was a one party state like japan and nowadays has parties with equal chances. the more i read from japan the less i can imagine anyone other than the LDP from taking power. sounds like a one party state to me.

not like asian have democracy or a faustian spirit for freedom in their genes either, so it's not wrong
>>

No, it's just reality. If it's actually one party system, they don't need to change just because it drops 10 points in the approval rating.
In reality, they keep changing their colour. 1970s LDP and 1990s LDP aren't the same thing even if they have the same name.
Japan even has a literal communist party but if there are like 5 different leftist parties that can't really get along with each other, they can't beat LDP most of the time.
It's a result of working democracy no matter what anyone says.

>>222424354
That's not socialism tho
>>
>>222425093
It pretty much is

>Japan is socialist as fuck, for better or for worse
Worse. It is literally the reason you ascended economically, and completely crashed in the 1980's.

Yes, socialism is wonderful during baby and economic boom, but once the it has to compete and adapt quickly, a socialist gov will never be able to keep up with the free market.

Top down investment decisions from the Japanese investment mechanisms in the 80s were all wrong and it allowed the U.S. to completely take over IT and the financial services industry, while Japan kept investing fucking fax machines.

There are pros and cons, to be honest. I wasn't trying to claim it's great anyway.

Westerners see the Asian work ethic and denounce it as capitalism to go back to posting on /int/ all day (based)
