but i like it all. i don't get it enough because i live in a doubly landlocked state. i prefer fresh fish, of course. my favorite freshwater fish to eat is the crappie, and i usually have that or catfish when i want fish and chips

I prefer grilled fish with firmer flesh to softer flesh.

I like almost all of it. Not big on the rot-preserved Norse stuff. Surstromming and hakarl taste better than they smell, but not enough for me to say I enjoy either.
For a specific creature, I gotta go with mackerel.
For a specific dish... couldn't tell you. I like seared scallops, surimi, sardines, squid stew, and salmon puttanesca all fairly evenly.

I like the Italian dish, Acqua Pazza.
It's a dish where sea bream and shellfish are simmered in tomato sauce. It's tangy and delicious.
