>>222434209I spent pretty much my entire first year in my dorm watching Red Dwarf and eating kebabs. I moved into a shared flat for the two years after that, during which time I went for long walks around the island I was on, then came back and ate kebabs while playing CRPGs. Barely even remember my useless degree (English Literature), I just remember all the video games I played and all the kebabs I ate. This was 2010-2013, so I have no idea what university is like now though.

>>222434209Imagine being Bodhidharma and you're facing a wall for nine years and you're about halfway throughThat's the college experience™
Very miserable as a sperg
I spent 1 year there skipping as many classes as I could to play videogames in my apartementWe had english classes where we learned things we should have known since highschoolI skipped them all and still managed to score a 38/40 at the exam, which was cut in half because I skipped all the classes, the teacher asked me why she never saw me attending her classes, I told her that's why.Anyway I enjoyed it because I lived by myself and could play hearthstone all day, as for uni itself it was mostly a waste of time but at least it was free

>>222434209Pretty locked-in and serious, to be honest. All the college is fun, finding myself kids with an above average IQ drop out after the first semester when they realize how expensive the investment is. Don't get me wrong, still plenty of retards waste money on retard degrees and phone it in, but for the most part they're the kind of deeply unlikable folx who spend their lives crusading against society for a perceived discrimination rather than look in the mirror and ask themselves why people tend not to like them. Other than that most of the students in US university are wholly focused on passing their classes.
>>222434323what was the best rank you got on hearthstone?
As far as I can tell a waste of time and money
>>222434316I graduated in 2017. I'm glad I missed all that shit. Maybe my experience isn't representative of the norm. I studied statistical methods in machine learning with a combined degree in CS and math. Most people I knew through math were serious locked-in types, thankfully the CS side of my coursework persuaded me to just get a normal job instead of trying to work in academia. Thank God I missed the faggot train.
>>22243452010, I sucked at it but I mostly play private games with my friends
>>222434610ah, hard to do that all day though...
>>222434209it does not prepare you for a job, but rather advanced degrees
>>222434609I just wanted an office job in my hometown and I heard that bachelor's degrees were like the highschool diploma of today, so I wasted four years of my life. Result is life is permaparked
>>222434209Tons of shit to do in short deadlines yet you always feel like you need to study on your own if you want to learn anythingThere are good people and shit people. You need to pick your companions carefully, because a wrong decision can completely ruin your university experience
>>222434209I teach at uni. I'm an associate prof. It's great.
