Do you like NYC
Yeah, it's great. There are the obvious inconveniences that come with living in such a densely populated city, but in my opinion the negatives far outweigh the positives. It's a great place to move if you have no friends since there's so much to do. I used to live in a city of about 150k people where there would be a concert or festival worth going to once a month tops. In NYC it's literally an every day thing. Within 2 months of moving here I'd made more friends than I'd ever had in my entire life prior to coming here, and I achieved it just by going to random shows and whatnot until I met people I liked, through which I met even more people I liked.I don't think I could ever raise a family here though, so eventually I'm going to have to leave. You can tank the high cost of living in New York when you're young and single, but to pay for all of the expenses of raising a child is just way too much, even with a dual income from your spouse. The only people I know who have kids are either very well off or have been living here for generations and don't want to leave.
>>222436802it's the only city with a european vibe in the usa
>>222436972>but in my opinion the negatives far outweigh the positives.... you mean positives far outweigh the negatives
i unironically love the hustle and bustle of the big city
>>222436802Yes. I've been there before. It has a lot of charm, very busy place. The sidewalks are always full of people. they call it many things but i think the most fitting nickname is "City That Never Sleeps"
No. It's a shithole. Got out as soon as I could.
>>222436972I just moved here, I've been here about 3 weeks haven't really gone to any events or whatever yet can we hang out anon? im down to do whatevermy discord username is in the filename.
>>222437004lol, yes that's what I mean. I need to pay more attention to what I've written before I hit post. >>222437026Living here has convinced me that meme and others like it must have been created by total losers trying to cope with their loneliness (speaking as a former loser). There's nothing to dislike about living in a busy area unless you're an antisocial sperg.
>>222436972>>222437086I don’t know why transplants are always the most zealous shills for the City, is it cope because you spent most of your life in Flyover, Missouri?
>>222437124>t. lives 45 minutes outside of Flyover, Missouri and pretends to love it there
>>222437210I was born and still live an hour from Manhattan
>>222437249Bro that could mean anything lol half of the area a hour outside of Manhattan is the sticks
>>222437285I don't think some hillbilly from Ohio or wherever can be calling somewhere "the sticks"
>>222436972pls hang out with me...I'm lonely...
>>222437313I grew up in west new york new jersey tho
>>222437442>I grew up in west new york new jersey thoIn what way is that different from Ohio
>I will never walk through the icy streets of wintertime NYC to sit for hours in a warm bar for a few bottles of Bud with my American /int/ friendsit's so over
>>222437442so not new york city at all, got it
VGH...
>>222436972Hey, I moved to NYC and am having trouble making friends. Any tips on where I can find shows or other activities to meet people?
>>222436981It is 1000% not a European vibe lol
Any city where half of your income goes to paying rent is a shithole
>>222436972how do you meet people at shows?
>>222437124less than 1% of nyc's population is born there and 0.2% of that population will die there.
>>222437955he means walkable and with lots of older architecture so yes it kind of is >>222437459>>222437455literally right across the Hudson River mmk
>>222438175>he means walkable and with lots of older architecture so yes it kind of isIn that regard yes, but NYC is entirely its own thing. No European city I've been to has the same "vibe" as New York.
>>222437946do you wanna hang out anon? my contact info is here >>222437064
>>222438242what is new york vibe in your opinion and how is it different from european cities?
>thread turns into an NYC meetup threadWtf is it failed normie hour in here? I wouldn't ever wanna meet anyone from this board irl
I feel that even Americans who hate New York still have affection and appreciation for it
>>222438526i met a guy from here onceit was really awkward and cringe but kind of fun
>>222436802no. NYC is a dangerous city
>>222437034Nothing was open for breakfast in the lower east side in the early morning, so I think that's a shit name.
>>222436802I hate this jeet tranny shithole and the only reason I haven't committed a mass shooting is because I am not sub-5.Good place to be a welfare queen and get free shekels out of the state. Also being an isolated incel is basically 100% guaranteed unless you are rich, tall, or handsome.Cost of living is very high and you basically won't be able to afford anything the normalniggers wypipo do.Lots of crackheads you can hang out and talk with.Good medical care.
>>222440038Great water very tasty
>>222436802I enjoyed living there for a year, yeah. 4chan chuds get all butthurt and seethe about it, but it's a really fun city to be in if you're willing to go outside and enjoy partying in people's apartments, going to big events like concerts and sports matches, etc... Great city for a young man in his 20s but I understand why you wouldn't have a good time there as a future parent trying to raise kids. The thing about the subway being full of weirdos is true, but I also saw a shitload of crackheads and other dodgy characters when I roadtripped through "Red States" so I don't know what gave them the impression that they're somehow better than New York in that sense.>>222436981European? Literally nowhere in Europe looks like Manhattan, maybe some parts of Brooklyn look like parts of London/Manchester/etc. but even that's stretching it imo.
>>222437124>people who willingly choose to live somewhere like the place they chose to move to out of their own free willFucking shocker? It's the same here in Melbourne>>222438500It's different from European cities because it's literally not Europe, same reason why you can't really equate Tokyo to anywhere in Europe.Since you're Brazilian, it's probably more like Sao Paulo more than anything.
>>222438764In terms of engineering? Unsurpassed almost peerless, there will never be another like it the city broke new ground constantly it's practically the blueprint for the modern world. As someone who lives in New York state and needs to deal with their municipal government larping as a city state? Burn it to the ground. The rest of the US has performative hate for NYC, the people who live in the state and outside the city mean it.
>>222440263Appreciate the gumption of the guy trying to get the couch onto the subway, even if he's retarded. The rest is horrific
