I've been noticing this for years while walking my dog. So many people are just chilling in their cars, often with the headlights turned on (it always makes me feel super exposed when I'm walking in the dark and the headlights are illuminating me). Every day I see multipple people doing it. They sit there for long periods of time too, I never see them leaving for the entire time I cross the street (several minutes) so it's not just them setting up the route or something. Are they all waiting for someone? Why not wait inside their homes or stand outside? Because this happens in every season and every weather condition, no matter if cold rain or sunshine. Do people sit in their cars in other countries too or is it a German thing?

There's no other place to fkin sit. In a functioning city you can walk to the park or plaza to sit and eat, there's no such places in the average suburbia that doesn't require you to pay. So you sit in your car to eat or nap.
