Only old people born before 1990 tan in my country. It was a meme, especially the boomers were into, because they despised their White skin. My grandmother bullied me for having skin like "a pasty White cheese" once. My father has tanned so much over the years that his skin is as dark as some Turks, but you only really notice it, when you hold arms side by side, because he is obviously not a Turk and I have the theory that White people, even when tanned, have a different secondary skin color, which still changes how they look in certain light conditions.

I barely tan at all, so I don't even bother trying. Usually I only go outside after like 4pm when the UV is like 2. I've been tanned like one time in my life, but that was after several days of hardcore drinking outside and a massive sunburn. With my skin type, I'd rather just stay as wrinkle free as possible, instead of being slightly less pale for a couple weeks
