I heard they are all acoholic. Is that true? I can picture in my mind a finnish being obnoxious and noisy. They are so cute and well behaved.

One can drink heavily without being obnoxious and noisy

I will hopefully have found a job in Finland soon, so when I move there I'll tell you myself. If there are any Finns reading this thread who know anyone willing to hire an American who can't understand Finnish (but is a hard worker and willing to learn), please let me know.

The problem with hiring foreigners is that you're taking jobs away from your own people

I understand that, but I'm sure there are some places that just need workers regardless of whether they're Finns or not. I'll move boxes around in a warehouse as long as it means I can live in Finland.

the americans deserve you job more

Economy is in the shitter atm but I think in few years it shouldn't be too hard to find a job in IT or general engineering fields. Be prepared to earn three times less than you would in the US lol

Not really. They have slightly higher alcohol consumption than us or the Swedes, but are around the European average.

Finland is below average in alcoholism rates in Europe. Finns often drink more at a time than most Europeans but that doesn't mean you're alcoholic. Alcoholism is way more common in France and other countries with a strong wine culture but it goes largely unnoticed because of the strong wine culture where everyone drinks wine all the time and nobody can tell who's actually alcoholic.

Remember that you will always be treated and considered an outsider, especially if you don't speak Finnish. Don't be fooled by the façade put up by the "tolerant urbanites"; they also consider you as much of an outsider as they do with Somalians and Arabs. The difference is that they will put you on a pedestal and call others "racist or xenophobic", while never realizing that this kind of behavior only reinforces the gap between immigrants and the native population, therefore unknowingly hindering their own agenda.

By the way, we are not white and neither are you, Gonzalez.
