FR “Bring the Japanese Over!” JP The story of how Japan’s cleaning efforts—which, for some reason, had been criticized as “hypocritical”—actually ended up receiving a flood of praise from around the world
>>222494210youtube reactions:People often criticize this, saying it “takes jobs away from cleaning staff,” but to me, that just sounds like a convenient excuse to justify littering the streets and public facilities.Of course it’s better for the streets and public facilities to be clean. If the cleaning staff cleans up after the audience has already cleaned up, it’ll be even cleaner. My room is a mess, but when I go outside, I don’t litter the streets. This isn’t hypocrisy. My room is my own, so it’s up to me whether I make a mess of it, but a stadium is a public place, so I don’t litter there. It’s sad that some people don’t understand this simple fact.Q. They don’t pick up trash after games at Japanese stadiums, do they?A. To begin with, Japanese stadiums don’t get littered with trash in the first place.Joshua is a British guy born in Japan, right? He’s the type who’s constantly complaining about Japan and seems to have a lot of pent-up frustration.I think he should take his complaints to his parents, who moved here.Oh, that Joshua. He keeps on complaining about how he looks white and gets treated like a foreigner in Japan—how stressed out he is and how fed up he isDidn't these guys used to say stuff like, “Japanese people are racist”?“We want the West to accept us, but we're racist”—that's a contradiction, isn't it? lolJapan, the Land of the Rising Sun, has truly become a leader in world peace and harmony! In Japan, people clean out of a sense of courtesy, but in other countries, people clean to be praised, so their lack of refinement is still quite noticeable. The discrimination against Asians was directed at Korea, Japan’s rival, right? Lately, Japan, China, and Korea have clearly been treated differently. Japanese people don’t need to have an “Asian complex.” After all, Japan is the only country in the West that’s treated as an equalhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgqvdHkLJBs
Sorry for suddenly having a mental breakdown. I'm gay btw
hypocrite civilian vs honest barbarians
What I learned from this little controversy is that the Japanese are very performative in their "politeness" and "cleanliness". I have learned that apparently they fuck just as much shit up as any other nationality during big events and they don't clean their homes or participate in household duties, even though they pretend they clean their streets and stuff.
>>222494425So they do passive-agressive cleanings?
>>222494425Those were zainichi Koreans or they were drunk which is different
I went to the kebab stall in Asakusa and waited a while for the food. A German family was eating at the sole table (you could also walk to benches near the river to eat, a sign said). The family left a bottle on the ground, and there had already been some trash there. My order came up and I started eating at the table. A Japanese man in his 20s walked up, looked at the menu, looked at the ground, milled around a little, kicked at the trash, loudly sighed and left. I finished eating my bad falafel and put the wrapper in the trash can to the right of the counter.
