Mexicans have an inhate and almost supernatural desire to wander off into cliffsides, mountains, and overall tall places regardless of justification or reason. Its impressive the amount of times ive hiked to what seemed to be fucking nowhere only to find an entire family with children staring at me like this was just the subway. Mountainsides are CROWDED and you can even see on Mexico's google maps the absurd number of villages on the side of mountains built on poor soil with tiny strips of houses hugging cliffsides, inhabited for seemingly no reason
