>The most fertile part of my country? YEAH BUILD A MEGACITY ON TOP OF IT!!!!

Are they retarded? Why don't they build their cities in the desert and leave the farmland for food production?

Doing farming in the desert makes more sense with cheap electricity from solar and desalination. Saudi Arabia is investing massively in desert farming with decent success.

it's not like agriculture needs to be a great part of their economy, I just think that if you have a chance of being a little bit more self-sufficient, you should work on it

I thought rich people own farms but have foreigners working on it. In Egypt's case like quarter of the population will be farming like some medieval feudal nightmare.

Worst thing is that there are 0 jobs or corporations or media HQs or anything other than fields that haven't seen development since Mohammed Ali Pasha's reign. If you want a job other than watching Uncle Basheer's cows for 0.001$/h you NEED to migrate to Cairo because there are no opportunities anywhere else.

Yes obviously

Retard
>>222582965
You can't. Nobody can at this point. Our demographic crisis has gotten far too big to ever be fixed and we're STILL above replacement TFR because of Islamists' dogged efforts to keep it high at all costs to have a massive broke uneducated mass of retards to draw recruits from and leverage against central authority

The answer to this question will vary wildly depending on who you ask, with answers from Nasserite Socialist rule, Anglo rule, the Mohammed Ali's dynasty, Ottomans, Mamelukes, Abbasids, Rashidun Caliphate (ISIS fans like them a lot), all the way back to 343BC with the last native Egyptian pharaoh.

Basically everyone agrees that we really aren't doing well in the modern day though

>Sisi-supporter Muslims (minority among poorfags, majority among richfags)
Gamal Abdel-Nasser
>Ikhwan-supporter Muslims (majority among poorfags, minority among richfags & women)
Any of the Arab caliphates. The more educated ones lean towards the Abassids, the ISIS types lean towards the Rashidun. Recently some have been shifting towards Ottomans because Turkey heavily sponsors the Muslim brotherhood and their ideologues but 1 reference to Koçekler and boy-fucking harems usually ends that phase
>Copts
Anglo rule/Socialist rule. Occasionally Kangz but that's too cringe for most of them
>Kemetists
Kangz.

Political opinion is highly polarized imc because we're all poor and ignorant and foreign sponsors are more than happy to fund all kinds of spicy agitators

Nearly every state on earth has an agricultural sector.

Egypt is a very funny country. In some ways it's the India of the Middle East. Polluted, destitue, filled with weird creepy brown people, and getting worse. I find it kind of funny how their entire political system is just talking about Israel and Jews in different capacities. Local poltiics is just about how loudly you can call the other guy a Jew. Everything in their life revolves around Israel, and from my understanding, they believe the US pays them to not go to war to protect Israel. In reality, the US pays them to not go to war because it's the stove they don't want to touch. You could never convince an Egyptian of this of course, despite the decades of humiliation and defeat on the battlefield. Very funny people.

remember that for 99% of human history the peak of transportation was a horse or a donkey pulling a cart on dirt roads that get fucked with too much traffic, and the vast majority of people had to work. owning horses was a wealthy person thing
if you went back to the bronze age and told the undernourished people that lived in the cities that they had to move to the desert and spend an hour walking back and forth to the river to carry a heavy vase full of water every single day they'd think you're retarded

>Local poltiics is just about how loudly you can call the other guy a Jew.
I'm impressed that a Westerner understands us so well. Sisi's people call Ikhwanjeets and pisslamists Jewish agents sent to destabilize the ummah and slaughter Muslims, Ikhwanjeets insist Sisi is a cryptojew and intentionally trying to destroy the ummah and harass christians 24/7/365 with the claim that they're allies of the Jews (Quran 5:51), christians call islamists Jewish agents because they're retarded and can't harm Israel and only bomb civilians all the while secretly hoping the Jews would just kill the islamists off for them. Everyone is simultaneously a Jew, Jewish agent, and the biggest enemy of the Jews all at once. The obsession with Jews in the Arab world has become a genuine psychosis at this point

>You could never convince an Egyptian of this of course, despite the decades of humiliation and defeat on the battlefield
Reading CoS Shazly's account of how badly Sharon rekt the 3rd army in Sinai would be enough to get you killed because, according to the gooberment and islamists, we officially won that war militarily and not a single mention of what happened between '73 and '80 was ever mentioned in any of my textbooks. We won that war, chud. The "victory" is an annual holiday for all workers and schools btw
>>
>>222582857
Absolutely it was back when local settling started. Then people want to live closer to people and on and on
>>
>>222587783
I only know what I know because of some books and speaking to local Egyptians every now and then. Despite its size, I feel that Egypt is generally one of the more mysterious countires in that region. People here know next to nothing about it beyond "muh pyramids" and the usual ancient history.

I feel bad for guys like you who understand how badly your government has failed its people. Maybe you can get out one day, who knows.

>Egypt is generally one of the more mysterious countires in that region
Thankfully the state of education in my cunt is absolute dogshit and very few people are fluent enough in English to frequent the Anglosphere or change perception of us on the internet. The people fluent in the language are usually richfags who could afford private educations away from the abysmal public education system, and due to how our classism and racism work all of them desperately want to avoid discussing our culture and being seen as nasty subhuman arabo-jeet rapeapes by westerners so they keep quiet and only talk about Kangz and Pyramidz and shieet
>>
>>222588141
I have two degrees in poltiical science so mostly Murphy's International Law, Brown's American Foreign Policy, and whatever random journals I read regarding Middle East history and policy during those courses. I read about it though an American foreign policy lens, so keep that in mind, but generally not what people probably learn in casual settings or high school.

Most of my studies were focused on China and East Asia broadly, so I can't say I read anything specific to Egypt other than the two books listed above which covered it extensively in the context of its relationship to the US and our interests.

don't worry they are retarded

>>222588531
that's bullshit though, muslim and coptic egyptians are the same thing
>>
>>222588677
exactly but the average westoid chud just thinks evil muslim arabs killed 1000000 trillion people, when Muslim and Christian Egyptians are the same thing.
>>
>>222588739
the irony is that what little difference exists between them (higher natufian and less SSA) makes copts gentically closer to peninsular arabs than the muslims are

Ironically enough the Christians are closer to you than the Muslims which makes both sides butthurt. They really hate each other now tho they'll definitely start bombing churches the instant Sissy falls

Is there really that much religious tension? It seems the region is progressing on being less sectarian. I don't have much of a clue about Egypt since im mostly fed information by pro regime Egyptians that live here
>>
>>222589332
Because our megalomaniacal dictator builds vanity megaprojects to get praised by ppl like (You) and every time someone praises that monkey it just reinforces his awful behavior. I've seethed about this several times already but the megaprojects benefit no one and just stroke his ego

>>222589514
Yes. Look up USD to EGP ratios or food prices over the last decade or our economic crisis and how brutal it's gotten. Most just (rightfully) blame it on Sissy and copts are fiercly loyal to him because they know the only alternative is death from a suicide bomber and he keeps them safe, so they've caught most of the blame along with Sissy. Your pro-regime friends like Sissy because they're not here getting raped by hyperinflation and absurd prices daily like the rest of us stuck in Masristan
>>
>>222589617
You guys have to abandon your halfway socialism shit, still having price controls in 2026 is absolutely retarded. I personally think religious extremism is on the decline (at least in the levant and arabia).
