It is interesting, though, to hear them make remarks that look down on Japan.
I also found it amusing when he asked what a country the size of California—referring to Japan—had to say for itself.

Foreigner patriotism is almost entirely performative, incidentally they're intent on being a vocal minority. Furthermore in my experience they're either comical parodies of a US patriot or intent on pushing multiculturalism. Whatever suits their own ends, no one really expects more than opportunism from them and they certainly deliver.
