It's not like I hate my country but often times i get insecure about the achievements of my people.Ethnic lithuanians have made zero important contributions to mathematics and have had essentially zero first rate mathematicians. Meanwhile other countries, even a lot of small ones, like Finland, Norway, Poland, have had great mathematicians.I also think the lithuanian language is poorly suited to expressing modern thoughts. A lot of phrases and words in english have no equivalent in lithuanian and a lot of lithuanian native phrases sound very awkward and grating to me.
>>222744734As a south brazilian of german prussian descent I'm deeply proud of my ethnic roots. There's very few people's on earth that managed to compete with us.
>>222744734No, but you shouldn’t really care, 99.999% of all people who have ever lived don’t go down in history. Also for a long time lithuania wasn’t really its own country, perhaps since the middle ages.
>>222744734Who cares? My ancestors probably lived in a dung hut while Rome controlled the entire Mediterranean basin. I would never defer to someone from there becayse if their “heritage.” Also Lithuanian is a very interesting linguistically, it’s more similar to Sanskrit than any European language.>>222747292And they somehow managed to be pagan almost up until the reformation, that is insane for a European country.
>>222744734should've stayed pagan
>>222744734My ethnicity is associated with slave labor, sex slaves and having no acconplishments in the world on top of being a shithole.
i am above my ethnicity and race. i am simply...Edward
