I've just learned that firsties, instead of just moving to some cheaper place, they share houses with stranger people. Not even relatives, or friends, they for real live together with people that they've never met before.
>>222792760many people cannot afford to live anywhere alone without sharing
>>222792760It used to only be a thing for university students who work part-time, if at all. Then a few years ago we got invaded by jeets, supply and demand factors did what they do, rents skyrocketed, and now even people with decent full-time jobs are forced to live with strangers. No one wants this. Except the jeets, it works fine for them because they don't mind sharing a one bedroom apartment with 16 other people, but 5 years ago in most parts of Canada anyone with a full-time job could afford their own place to live. We have lost that. When you import thirdies they will drag the rest of the country down to their level, and I would argue that Canada is not a first world country anymore.
>>222792760That's what happens when you design your whole economic system to increasing house prices indefinitely while not building any new ones. Sprinkle in some immigration and student debt and you get this. Seems to be more of an anglo thing though.
>>222793358You guys not have family, uncle or girlfriend family?!?! Not in 1000 years I would prefer live with degenerate universitarians than with my even distant 3rd degree cousin drunken
>>222792760No-one actually does that. That would be shit tier poverty maxxing
>>222793461You need to remember that a lot of firstoids practically live hours away from their first cousins after getting their first "corporate job", even Plumbers since rural Plumbing doesn't pay shit
>>222793461why would I have family in all the cities I want to live in. personally I have 0 contact with anyone part from my mother
>>222793461Adults living with their parents or other family is just not a part of our culture. Traditionally a Canadian adult is expected to move out at least by the time they finish post-secondary education, preferably before that, and if you are still living with your parents well into your 20's you are seen as a bit of a loser. But things are changing. Housing costs are never going to go down. I suspect that we will start seeing a lot more "multigenerational homes" just like in third world countries, but right now we are still in a transitional stage.
>>222793822Funniest thing in all of this is that housing crisis is somehow killing a 800 years old English tradition, that predates even the Black Plague
>>222793964I don't find it funny. I liked things the way they were 5 years ago.
I live in london in an HMO with 6 other indian blokes and its alright
>>222794912Any stories worth sharing saar?
>>222792760I did that for sex. It only worked once but once was enough to make it worth the attempt.
>>222794931dont really interact much. they just always on the phone and they work a lot and late hours. some even work 7 days a week
>>222792760my plan for when my parents die is to get a roommate or two in my own apartment for extra money
