Are New York, Los Angeles, and Miami the most important cities in the United States?
>>
>Miami
Miami isn't important in the least. Chicago is far more important than Miami. Hell, so is Boston and Cleaveland and even Nashville.
Miami is just a party spot, it carries no importance
>>
>>222893746
Yes if we are basing this off the GTA series
>>
>>222893746
Yes, if it weren't for Miami the uncultured US swines wouldn't get to experience European trance music in the 2000s.
>>
>>222893907
How are Chicago or Boston more important than Miami?

>Cleveland
>Nashville
Never heard of them
>>
>>222894167
Chicago and Boston are financial powerhousest with prestigious institutions that power the economy.

Miami is just one city in an otherwise worthless southern state.

>Never heard of them

Then you're dumb
>>
The most important cities in the US are Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Wichita Falls
>>
>>222893746
yes, its undeniable that the top cities are New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Omaha

I live in Concord, Massachusetts. It is THE most important city.
>>
>>222893907
>Cleaveland and even Nashville
you could walk through both of their downtown areas in about fifteen minutes
>>

Is that supposed to be some sort of metric?
Miami is arguably just one strip

in terms of importance as defined as money, culture and education

New York City
.
.
huge gap
.
.
Los Angeles
San Francisco (because of tech)
Washington DC
Chicago
Dallas / Austin
Boston

Miami doesnt even make the TOP 15 cities in the US.

Yes! Tyler Perry being the most famous director

Boston has shitloads of unis and a lot of hard söyence still takes place in that ecosystem. It's lowkey one of the evilest places on the planet when it comes to spook shit brewing. There's a reason why Epstein knew so many people there.

Miami's economy is way more low class and scammy: real estate, crypto, pornography.
>>
>>222896013
Chicago is really big, with lots of people, businesses etc, plus is the center of the nation's ground transit infrastructure. SF is small but the center of the tech oligarchy that rules the planet. DC is the center of government.

Miami is ironically more important to the crappy LatAm and Caribbean Island countries than it is to the USA.
>>
>>222893746
Miami is a favela like the rest of the south. it exists so the snowbirds could point to it and say "City bad!"
>>222902543
>Miami's economy is way more low class and scammy: real estate, crypto, pornography.
this is the entire country's economy. LA's economy is the exact same but locals try to put a positive spin on it by saying it's more "diverse." whatever that means
>>
>>222902955
Any Miami hater wouldn't have much love for LA either. It's the same fakeness on a grander scale. I'm a northeastern supremacist personally. Anything outside the original colonies + farming/mining doesn't matter.

Yes, it's not a coincidence that Rockstar chose these 3 cities. Actually San Francisco maybe more important than Miami now with the surge of tech.
>>
Miami’s only real importance is its socioeconomic and geopolitical ties to the Caribbean and South America

Also like all of Florida it’s full of financial criminals, drug / human traffickers, and right-wing chuds

Probably the most important city in the South
>>
>>222904687
Isn't Miami in the south too?
>>
>>222893746
The top 3 in order are undeniably NYC, LA, and Chicago.

#4 & #5 are up for debate. DC metropolitan & the bay area, most likely.
>>
>>222905021
Chicago is an irrelevant dying shithole
>>
The biggest urban areas in the US are NYC, LA-Riverside, DC-Baltimore, Chicago, and the SF-San Jose Bay Area. In order of importance, SF is probably #2, behind NYC, due to all of the tech money and companies.

Miami is not particularly important. Miami could be wiped out by hurricanes, and it would not matter that much to the US overall. Miami is significantly less important than a place like Houston (for example).

isn't SF losing importance since the tech and A""""I""" industry started moving to Santa Clara and Seattle? SF doesn't even have important military infrastructure anymore to keep the federal government around as its paypig.

No; it has massively gained money and influence during the 2020's due to the AI boom. Anthropic put its HQ right in the middle of SF city. Santa Clara is part of the Bay Area. Basically, competitor cities like Austin mostly flamed out, and the SF area became even more dominant than before.
>>
How does florida have such a massive population yet no economic relevance?
>>
>>222907425
It has a large economy on paper, but a lot of that comes from wealthy older people and the investments they accumulated while working in other areas. Miami tried to become a 'tech hub' by offering lax regulation, but that just led to scam companies like FTX ruining the city's reputation among 'legitimate' firms.

Now, it tries to attract OnlyFans whores and shady online gambling companies. It's just too scammy and gross for big players in the 'real' economy to set up there.
>>
>>222905090
No population growth for Chicago? Really?

I precise

1. New York
Economy
2. Los Angeles
Soft power
3. Washington
Political power
4. San Francisco
AI, Tech
5. Chicago
Agriculture
6. Boston
Education
7. Houston

8. Seattle
Tech too, but less than San Francisco
9. Miami

10. Atlanta

New York and Los Angeles yes. Miami isn't important. Third worlders seem to like it a lot because it's the US city most similar to their capitals.

No. LA and NY are the most important, peerless.
Miami is like a third rate city at best. Latinxers love it and shill for it, but it's kind of a meme.
>>
>>222910152
>Los Angeles
>Soft power
No. It's our biggest port and a major manufacturing hub, it's specialties are biomedical, textiles, and architecture. It's also a key player in design.
>Chicago
>Agriculture
No. Chicago is a major financial center and is a large manufacturing hub as well. It's specialties are paper, heavy machinery, primary metals, things of that nature.
>>
>>222893907
>Cleveland and Nashville
>More important
lol no, Miami is crossroads of Latin America and good chunk of Europe to the US (namely Spain/Portugal). Also there's the jewish connection of Israel too and Russians.

So yes it's important.

Chicago and San Franciso yes. Cleveland and Nashville are completely irrelevant.

Beaner detected. That's not important
>>
1. NYC: finance/banking/general commerce
2. SF: tech
3. Chicago: agriculture/middle american commerce
4. Houston: oil/finance/commerce

final answer, these represent our economy and the rest are supplementary
>>
>>222914285
Cleaveland has the Cleaveland Clinic, NASA research center, the rock and roll Hall of Fame, a Federal Reserve bank and Cleveland State.
Nashville is an American cultural cornerstone. Miami is just a beaner party town
>>
>>222905090
Now do since 2020
>>
>>222912267
NTA but Chicago takes in an obscene amount of the agricultural output from the Midwest and processes/ships it elsewhere. Been that way for almost two centuries.
>>
>>222914356
Cleveland also has the largest US steel company (Cliffs) and Sherwin Williams Paint, neither of which is glamorous but they're still major companies.

Ironically, Miami was originally founded as a resort town by some rich lady from Cleveland. Hence a city in Florida being named after an Indian tribe from Ohio.

>>222912333
As I said before, Miami is more important to LatAm than to the rest of the US.
>>
>>222914356
>>222914487
Lmfao are you a fucking Cleveland resident or something? Nobody cares about your city outside of the rust belt dude. The entire state of Ohio literally became a meme a few years back due to being a goofy meme state that is undesirable to live in.
Every big city has a list of companies that can be listed off. Miami has Burger King, Office Depot, Lennar, and multiple major cruise lines (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norweigan). There's a reason why Miami is about to have two (2) GTA games, while Cleveland has zero. The cultural output and significance aren't even in the same league.
Not even a beaner or Florida resident btw.

>Nashville is an American cultural cornerstone
Not even gonna bother with this one lol
>>
>>222893746
The cities where everything that goes on in America is decided are Washington DC and San Francisco, the others don't matter. A city like LA is basically a giant reservoir of cattle and no important decision is ever taken there.
>>
>>222893746
Yes, but weird enough Texas is the state the best represents the country in general
>>
>>222915277
Because cowboys?
>>
>>222915064
Nashville is the center of America's most iconic music industry and has had one of the biggest population surges of any American city over the past decade.
>>
>>222916334
Country is far from America's most iconic genre when Rock, Jazz, RnB, and heck even Hip hop exist. Nobody outside of the US even listens to country artists.
>biggest population surges of any American city over the past decade.
10 people to 20 people would be a 100% increase, doesn't mean it's important. Also, Texan cities are seeing the most growth in the country.

I hope you realize listing 2 random fun facts about a city doesn't mean it's important. You can do that with literally any city. Charlotte is the center of NASCAR (the biggest American motorsport) and saw twice the population growth of Nashville last year. Doesn't mean it's important.
>>
>>222916334
Nashville is getting a bump in immigration for the same reason that Miami and Austin did post-covid: billionaires, influencers, and podcasters not wanting to pay income tax. It’s that simple. Most of them end up moving back to California or New York after a few years once they realize none of those cities will ever be as fun, interesting, and cool.
>>
>>222894167
The North East corridor of the US is the current cradle of human civilization and its knowledge.

Look at the number and quality of scientific papers that come from that region as compared to the rest of the world (there are clear statistics about this out there for you to read).

If Mass, NY and NJ were to disappear, humanities collective IQ would go down by a few points and we would be set back a few decades in terms of academic research.

So I guess you think Rochester MN is the most important city because of Mayo Clinic?

>Cleveland state
who?

>>222919629
A new state?
>>
>>222916800
Most important research is private ie san francisco wins again
>>
>>222918941
Nashville is big for country, but country is nowhere near the most important or largest genre in the US. Maybe if you live in some shithole in Louisiana. Any large city in Texas is more important than Nashville.

>>222920256
On that topic specifically, they both got the same issues with transients. Neither is better nor worse.

Overall there's no comparison, LA is better. The food is better, the climate is better, the houses and apartments are so much better. You can always find something new to do in LA, if you try, you'll never get bored. SF gets boring pretty fast.
The people are fake as fuck, but everything's laid back and chill so who gives a shit. SF is just as fake, but everybody's also uptight. LA assimilates its transplants, SF doesn't.
Also LA is cheaper somehow. I don't know how they do it.

The only good thing SF has is its proximity to nature. It's real easy to get out of the city. But if that's what you want, there are probably way better options you can pick from, like Denver.
>>
>>222893746
honestly, there are no important cities in the united states post-deindustrialization. what purpose is a city that doesnt make anything
>>
>>222924665
Even without industry, American cities are very relevant around the world.
>>
New York es la voz
>>
>>222927499
Los Angeles and New York yes since all the porn and movies are made there.
But the rest of the "cities" in my country do not matter and are of no consequence to other countries except for maybe China since we buy all of their crap and prevent cunts like yours from building up a competent manufacturing sector.
