Why is French music so damn awful?Why are there only two musical genres that get played in France: rap and French variety?Why are America, UK, Ireland, and Korea the only countries that make great music?Why doesn’t Canada, even relative to its population size of 1/9th of America now because its population is booming due to their importation of a lot of people, produce good music either, even though it’s basically an inferior version of the America?

>>222906046I don't know anything about contemporary French musique but I've found frogs to be decent curators. I enjoyed record shopping in France because they seemed to stock a lot more strange prog rock and post punk than you'll find in Australia. I also think France had a decent DIY minimal wave culture back in the day, but not to the extent of Germany/Belgium/Netherlands. Really Australia might have least impressive musical output in the developed world. Even New Zealand wipes the floor with us.
