The English textbook I used in the mid 2010s listed some abbreviations English speakers used on SMS. One of them was "w8" for "wait" and one example was "I'm w8ing for u". How common was to use "w8" in the past and how common is to use that nowadays? Did you like or h8 to see things being written like that?
