Our government is doing a national investigation into our falling birthrates that is currently the lowest ever recorded (1,42tfr) and it has already come out with some interesting findings. As it relate to the thread, it turns out that the one child household is virtually non existant statistically speaking. Essentially every home that has children ends up having multiple. They have an average of 2,3. The slide downward is instead caused by a demographic of people with no children whatsoever. Delving further into the circumstances that these people in particular live under, it starts to paint a clearer picture of the problem. By and large, these people in much higher degree than the rest of the population: >don’t have any loans (car/home) >don’t have a partner or roommate>don’t have any pets >in a much higher degree depending on gig work or is self employed It’s the you will own nothing and be happy crowd. A huge swath of society that just sort removed themselves from it. Existing in the margins unnoticed with little in the way of impact or responsibilities for anything. Defective power nodes just sort of floating through the system with little in the way of purpose or direction
