>In one of the most ambitious architectural proposals of all time, Dinocrates of Rhodes, Alexander the Great’s personal architect, intended to carve Mount Athos (modern Eastern Turkey) into a massive statue of Alexander the Great. In his right arm would a “bowl” where mountain streams would collect into a massive lake. While in his left would sit a real, actual city. The plan was eventually called off after it was realized there would be no feasible way to feed the cities’ population.

Imagine how cool if would be if this still existed in Turkey today…
