1) Plains for easy construction while not being a literal desert.2) Forest since my state is mostly temperate.
Now that I'm playing the Alpha and Beta versions of the game, I realize how incredibly beautiful the landscapes are and how interesting it is to explore the world with so many strange formations. Then I moved on to Beta 1.8.1 and they just killed the charm of the old biomes, playing that version is incredibly boring.

>>2229498381. I like the mountain biome the most. But survival servers I always settle on the surface above the end portal, with the center leading straight inside if you jump in. I usually build a doughnut toroid base around it.2. Irl I just live in a forest biome, although the forest was cut and turned into a meadow I suppose.
