One Piece is long, one of the longest mangas and animes to exist, I don't think you need that much time to tell a story, at some point you are just going into unnecessary tangents, padding, etc. Oda doesn't respect his audience to actually end his manga, the anime is even worse with some fillers and the unnecessary recaps at the beginning of every episode, even people I know who are up to date with the anime agree that is too long and that the adaptation has a snail pace for a great deal of it.3. One Piece is ridiculous, now this is more of a personal preference thing as opposed to the first two points which are 100% objective, but One Piece is ridiculous in an unfunny way, every character looks like a bigger clown than the previous one.4. Now this is not something I have personal experience with, but I've been told about this by One Piece watcher, it also has a lot of plot contrievances, for example there is a literal magic compass that tell the crew where to go next, but it has a chance to send them to a place they don't really need to go to progress in finding the One Piece, making the crew go on long voyages that only result in some "character growth" that won't actually impact the characters that much and adding 50 chapters to the already bloated manga.5. No gravitas, besides the death of Luffy's brother basically no character actually dies so at some point you stop taking the story seriously because there's no bite to it, you know in the end Luffy or Zoro will fix everything up.
