What about their Christianity? What would happen if these mexicans are not taken at their word by medieval people but instead believed to come from a christian continent that is technologically advanced, then in some 800 years later when europeans arrive in the americas expecting to find quirky heretics separated from the papacy with advanced technology instead find people ripping each other's hearts out with obsidian daggers?How would these alternative europeans explain that?
