What is snow like?
>>
The yellow kind tastes like lemonade
>>
it burns counterintuitively enough
also a real bitch to shovel
>>
>>223271142
racist
>>
>>223271142
it can look beautiful during winter but it's a pain in the butt to shovel it
>>
>>223271142
it brings life joy if you are not living in exteremly cold areas. people go play snowball. take pictures. its kino. watching snowfall is calming.
>>
>>223271142
Don't know but i heard you can't eat it and it destroyed my hopes and dreams
>>
>>223271142
white
>>
>>223271142
It depends. Fresh snow is a fine powder. But its texture can change drastically depending on how wet/cold/hard it is.
>>
>>223271142
Great if you don't have to be anywhere on time and it's still fresh.
Awful if not.
>>
>>223271142
It’s cool for the first two weeks, then you get absolutely sick of it
>>
>>223271686
Lol wut? You can eat snow provided you don't live in some polluted shithole. As a kid in Minnesota we would make ice cones out of fresh snow and sugar water with food coloring.
>>
>>223271142
the reason eskimos and russians have like 20 different words for snow is that it varies based on temperature and moisture content. it can be very light or very heavy. the most difficult to shovel is snow that fell right around the freezing point, very high moisture, compact, back breaking heavy to move. this may be made worse by a rapid drop in temperature thereafter that cements it solid. compacted snow makes different noises depending on temperature as well. on very cold days it creaks and squeaks when you step on it or drive over it.

the short answer is that it's a pain in the ass to live with and you will get tired of the pretty appearance in less than one week
>>
>>223271686
>you can't eat it
it's the same as chewing on ice chips. it's just not recommended as a direct moisture source in a hiking type situation unless you can melt it for drinking.
>>
>>223272893
if you're using molten snow for drinking water you need extra minerals/salt from other sources, though, since it's basically distilled water
>>
I hate it
>>
>>223273038
>molten snow
Melted? And sure if you have some weird extreme off grid rainwater collection system, but nobody does that. Most rainwater collection is just used for gardening. Everyone else is going to use municipal or well water.
>>
>>223271142
it kills asians
>>
>>223271142
Like snow. I don't think I can compare it to anything.
>>
>>223271142
It makes a squeaky sound when you walk on it
>>
>>223271142
overrated as fuck, it's only good on vacation sites when you don't have to clean that shit up after it stops being snow and becomes slush

>>223271142
it absorbs sound, when you walk around in the forest in winter, it is very quiet
>>
>>223273328
>Melted
yeah, melted
I was thinking more of survival situations in the wild.
>>
>>223273682
Oh, yea I see. You're right, you have to melt it, and over time you'll need dissolved mineral tablets or solutions to keep those trace levels up. For camping over the course of a week you'll be fine. Chances are that whatever processed shit you have will include more than enough anyways. For months or years you'd need supplements or some very creative methods of sourcing it in the wild.
>>
>>223273038
>>223274036
Drinking distilled water is fine. You'll get all the minerals you need from food anyways.
>>
>>223274185
Modern food yes, but in anon's scenario you're out in the wilderness. It's more of an /out/ scenario than an /int/ one. Unless you were an expert in local fauna/flora, you'd eventually be deficient in some core nutrients. Most people don't know how to hunt, prepare, and store food, and access to salt is probably guarnateed to be 0, so you'd have to kill as needed.

This except it's beautiful every year and serves as a convenient workout if you have a driveway or to help your kids build stuff with snow

Makes you hate jews, blacks and browns

I don't know, haven't had it in years.

It's massively overrated

There's snow in Tuekey?
>>
>>223271142
It sucks if you live in a place where they salt the roads because that shit eats up cars in a few seasons even if you coat the underside in lanolin.

it's cold and wet, you can make a snowman or throw snowballs at your sister
your body doesnt get too hot even in a coat and you can go inside after and light a fire if you have a fireplace and watch a movie with hot chocolate
>>
>>223271142
It's pretty kino, you can do snow fight, snowmen, watch snowfall while drink a hot chocolate with cinnamon, everything becomes quiet and annoying tropical insects disappears, letting only the pleasurable fauna, like cold hardy birds and mammals
t. lives in picrel city

Damn, I'm jealous.
>>
>>223277980
>even if you coat the underside in lanolin.
Lanolin spraying is very effective. If you're still getting significant rust you're using a poor product or applying wrong or not frequently enough.

a bit cold

Since Japan has four seasons, we can enjoy everything from snow to jungle trekking.

When it gets cold enough say lower than -25C ice stops being slippery which is cool but snow becomes dry and powdery so it's unusable and winds blows it everywhere in big shiny waves. It's beautiful but it also means fewer outdoor activities
>>
Wouldnt you like to know weatherboy
>>
>>223271142
Depends, it can be like an ice-cream paste, or a weightless powdery sand. The latter one is highly appreciated for skiing.

Once winter early spring snowfalls end, they fill the reservoirs (damms) used to feed major cities water grid.
>>
>>223277898
used to be, yeah
>>
Nice when it's fresh but it rarely snows here and it only lasts for a week. So you get 1 day of cool fresh snow and 6 days of gross brown slushy slippery SHIT everywhere.
