The big difference being that many Junker families were unable to diversify their assets, as they just weren't as rich, and thus kept being based on their agrarian holdings.
Oh and the German Empire of 1871 wasn't an absolut monarchy. And the Kingdom of Prussia became a constitutional monarchy in 1848/50.
