I made this thread half as a joke but I wanted to see what anons from western europe (and the anglosphere) really think.I personally have almost no hope in most west european democracies, and not because I'm an ideologue who just thinks that we can go back to Franco or the spanish economic miracle and that totalitarism is just better, but I have no reason to respect the democratic system when a big part of it is already made up of foreigners with a european passport who make up a decent chunk of the voterbase + their descendants who will be able to vote in a couple of years. You can't have a democracy without a demos, and you have already changed the demographics in a more than significant way.I don't understand how people from most modern western countries just go on and pretend that their democracy isn't a sham and that it's some valuable institution that must be preserved at all cost when you're trying to vote against a growing foreign voterbase and the people who only care about maintaining a welfare state at any cost.
