Every year in Sweden, Norway and Finland and probably more countries. It goes dark, the sun does not rise. Its very cold, its depressing. LIFE STOPS FOR SIX MONTHS. During this time people retreat to their homes, there's little activity. MEANWHILE people in far south of Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Greece etc ENJOY THEIR LIVES AS REGULAR. They effectively live 50% MORE.That's 50% more time for conversations, gardening, sex, bathing and so on. They don't appreciate this AT ALL. IT DOESN'T ENTER THEIR MINDS EVEN.Despite that they do the most unthinking thing to us in the bitter north.... they move. Yes they leave that behind to work in a frozen DARK hellhole. At the same time we have to save 3 months of the years for the pleasure of visiting for 2 weeks, renting one of their 5 flats, which supports them for the whole year. They take it for granted and frankly don't deserve it.
